PGMO contact Forest that Salisbury’s decision was wrong.

I've been thinking about that decision today (one of the benefits of retirement not much else to do). After Mbeumo controlled the ball with his arm he actually had a shot on goal which was blocked & the ball rebounded to Cunha who scored, goal allowed (wrongly) because it was deemed accidental & the ball handler wasn't the scorer. However if the shot hadn't been blocked & gone straight in it would have been disallowed irrespective of whether the handball was accidental or not, which makes the whole thing nonsense.

You would have thought that common sense would dictate that as soon as the ball handler actually tries to score himself the handball offence should be given.

All irrelevant really now I know but just been trying to make sense of it in my head, think I must be ready for the end of the season so I can concentrate on cricket for a bit at least their version of VAR the DRS works well, is properly administered, properly applied & the paying public kept informed of the decision making process all the way through

So what happens if DRS disagrees with the umpire decision. I would guess that the DRS decision can not be overruled. There’s the problem, right there.

It happens all the time usually on faint nicks to wicket keeper but mostly on LBW the umpire makes his decision someone asks for a review & if the technology shows the umpire was wrong then technology wins, but there is also "umpires call" for border line decisions & if the technology says umpires call then they stick with the original decision made by the umpire
 
How many letters of apology have we got from Webb? How many have we got saying that point shouldn’t be ours because the ref/VAR decided in our favour and was wrong? Not many if any. They are not equaling out over a season, two seasons or four seasons. We should be keeping a tally and let PGMOL know. Plaster the letters all over the refs changing rooms. Let them know how much they are penalising NFFC because of poor decisions and refs not knowing rules. Show it on score board before games. About 5-0 isn’t it.

Why not just say the ref was wrong rather than. "a better decision would have been for Salisbury to overturn his initial decision"

Tbh, I actually sympathise with the VAR and the top bods at PGMOL with this one. The VAR has implored the guy to go and look at it, which is the nice way of saying “you’re wrong, mate”, yet he’s still looked at it and decided to give the decision he gave. It was one of the most unbelievable outcomes I’ve seen, like everybody else with eyes in my head I was just waiting for him to blow up and explain that Mbeumo had caught the ball and the goal therefore couldn’t stand.

I bet the VAR ref was asking what the fuck when he saw everything unfold.
