Wed 16 March 19:45 Peterborough v Swansea
A midweek trip to Cambridgeshire is on the horizon for avid Swans fans assuming they recover in time from their weekend away, as we take on another recently promoted League 1 side, bottom club Peterborough.
Nicknamed “The Posh” they’ve played at the London Road (presently named Weston Homes) Stadium since their formation and their nearest rivals are Northampton Town, 37 miles away. They finished runners up in League 1 last season, and above Blackpool, but look favourites to go straight back down.
Grant McCann returned to Peterborough as manager for the second time on Feb 24, after being sacked by Hull’s new owners.
In his four games in charge
W0 D2 L2
28/2 Peterborough 0 - Hull 3
4/3 Huddersfield 3 - Peterborough 0
8/3 Bournemouth 1 - Peterborough 1
12/3 Peterborough 2 - Stoke 2
They’ve lost 23 times this season and their last win was on 11 Dec, a 2-1 home win over Millwall. Since then they’ve gone 14 matches without a win.
Nicely timed match for the Swans to end Peterborough’s dismal run and gift them the win, surely not? Well who knows what Swans team will turn up on the night, but Grant McCann has already plotted a win and a draw against us this season whilst managing Hull.

Wolf back, replacing Ntcham

Swans: Andy Fisher, Cyrus Christie, Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Korey Smith, Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (c), Hannes Wolf, Joel Piroe, Jamie Paterson, Michael Obafemi.
Subs: Ben Hamer, Jay Fulton, Olivier Ntcham, Kyle Joseph, Nathanael Ogbeta, Finley Burns, Cameron Congreve.

HT: 1-0
FT: 2-3

Peterborough 2 Szmodics 51’, Marriott 63’
Swansea 3 (Obafemi 44’, 71’, Piroe 91’)

Poor defending against the bottom side, who can’t buy a win and had scored just 27 goals and conceded 72 goals this season before tonight’s game
The usual one forward pass and two sideways or back was the pattern of the game for us again, although to be fair 9 shots on target was a massive improvement on the Blackpool game
We left it very late to get the winner and we were 2-1 down with 30 mins left, cue Obafemi and Piroe to the rescue.
Five bookings for us, one for them.
