Perspective

sirdennis

Alert Team
Thought I would start this thread so next time we get too worked up about Villa or whatever it may be worth reading this article especially the last paragraph and it may put things into perspective.

Hearing a father tell how he lost his two daughters reduced many to tears and put our game's use of words like 'nightmare' and 'devastated' into perspective

Nope. Not reading it.

Got enough doom perspective in life, think we all know the 'real world'

Certsinly if you look at the bigger picture, football matters not one bit.

BUT strangely, it matters!!!

You would be the last person who needs some perspective though JF having gone through what you have.

It maybe a reminder to myself as someone who gets ridiculously affected by Villa's results or someone who gets great pleasure going to the game with my son , but reading that article just got to me.

Horrendous.
I don`t think I would be around if that had happened to my children.
The strength of character those parents must have is envious.
You read it and get that sinking feeling.

The problem is when Villa lose, there is no way my mind will even contemplate coming to this thread and putting the loss into perspective.
My mind will tell me to go to Church (tavern) and pray for lots of bar staff .

What it does put into perspective is the lack of compassion and empathy shown by the police and the complete incompetence and undestanding they showed whilst dealing with the situation I just hope that justice does prevail for Trevor Hicks and co.The man has acted with outstanding dignity and respect not sure I would have I think I would of strangled that prick who told him to shut his fucking prattle.

Yup, just too horrible to contemplate sirdennis/club. Don't have my own kids but I'd jump in front of a bus for my nephew/niece.. actually probably for all kids (like many of us would !?)

Wasn't dismissing what you were saying sirdennis (which I think you know) but don't think real life can ever be compared to our silly passion of football.

But yes, sometimes we do have to remind ourselves it isn't life and death I guess!

Yes it wasn't one of the polices finest hour to put it mildly.

Certainly wasn't sirdennis it was a complete fuck up but for me that wasn't the worst of it after we all make mistakes admittedly not many of us will ever be in the position with such important decisions to make. But the cover up which followed is on par with some of the more serious crimes ever committed.
