Pereiras red and white army

When you’re where we are, you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel, and VP is among those you’ll find there. But he’s a new voice, a different way of doing things and players are always very receptive when a new coach comes in, especially when they think (rightly) that the previous one was detrimental to them. Some managers are more suited to short-term roles than longer-term ones, he has showed last season he can have an impact in a short space of time (albeit in a weaker league, especially at the bottom), so let’s hope he can do the same here.
I've always thought that changing managers out of desperation when you are nearing the end of the season is a recipe for disaster.
Look at our first couple of seasons up in the EPL.
The teams that felt that had to keep changing manager were the ones who went down. The ones who had built an identity and team spirit for the whole season or more stayed up.

Obviously its not a hard and fast rule, but that's just how it seems to me.

I would have used the time to make contact with, and assess

De Zerbi
Maresca
Mancini
Terzic
O'Neill (Gary)
Carsley
Keane
Marco Rose

I would have been open to Solksjaer and on Wednesday I would certainly have spoken to Frank, on the off chance he wanted an instant return. We will be the level of his next job, for sure.

I could find more of these.

I am not saying they would all be available or willing, but you don't know unless we pick up the phone.

Did we?

Or did Marinakis just decide on someone he personally knows and likes for the second, disastrous, time this season?
If you were likes of De Zerbi, Maresca etc would you take the job?

At least the games are likely to be more attractive to watch even if result is no better.

Building an identity & team spirit seems to be where we had fallen down though. There was certainly no real identity under Dyche, & team spirit sometimes seemed to be there & other times not. The new man hasn't got long to instill an identity & build the team spirit though I suspect the team spirit is only hiding as most of the players have been together a good while

Maresca and de Zerbi? Probably not. Certainly not now but look at Terzic. A combination of his ego and reputation means he hasn’t worked in nearly two years. The same may end up happening for those two and all three may end up having to re-evaluate.

Personally though I would prefer someone who wants to manage us. Who wants the opportunity. I certainly don’t want anyone who thinks they are doing us a favour…
