Pereira Out

Is that to say that you cant find any posts where I've been 'jizzing over the new manager'?

As I thought...
It’s to say I can’t be arsed to look chap. But belittling other people’s opinion after one good result is certainly suggestive of something wouldn’t you say..?

My comment was purely about Dyche, it suggested nothing about VP.

You wont find one post of me 'jizzing over the new manager'. In fact, last night I posted that I was wary about rushing to judgement.

You are just plain wrong here.

No you were having a dig at people who defended Dyche by citing his PPG. My point is that it’s a tad premature given he hasn’t played a league match yet…

I dont need to wait to see how VP does in the league before I can criticise Dyche.

Regardless of how VP does from here it wont change my opinion that I thought Dyche was taking us down, nor will it make me think we should have stuck with him. It will mean VP was the wrong replacement.

Now please find me one - just one - post of mine where I was 'jizzing over the new manager'. Happy to give you the rest of the night, I'll pop back on in the morning to see if you've found anything 👍

You’re not looking at the whole pie. Vital Forest is one big pie

Criticise all you like but that wasn’t what you were doing was it? You can tell yourself otherwise all you like but we both know you were having a sly little dig at people who disagree with you. Otherwise why post in the way you did..?

And you can wait as long as you like, chap. I don’t need to search based on my opinion of what you originally posted. Maybe we should just revisit the whole subject at the end of the season…

“We have to keep working hard, that’s the main point, run a lot, more communication inside the pitch,” Murillo said. “We did this [against Fenerbahce]. Believing in his [Pereira’s] work is most important. We had some problems with the last gaffers but now we have to keep looking forward and grab his idea so that we can come back towards the top again.”

Morgan Gibbs-White praised Pereira for immediately fostering an identity, a sentiment echoed by Murillo. “The most important thing is we’ve got his idea. Before the game he had everybody together, all the players, staff, physios. That is the most important thing. It makes the team stronger. It is just the beginning but I think he will do a great job.”

Regardless of how you feel about Pereira, don’t see how you can argue now that we should have stuck with Dyche.

One of our best players openly acknowledging he’d lost the dressing room.

His position had clearly become untenable. To support the manager over the wishes of the leadership group in the dressing room would have been suicide.
Yep, that's fair.

Straight from the horses mouth and pretty much confirmation that he had lost them.

Can't argue with that and I'm not going to

I can't even be disappointed with the players, because a central part of my own job is getting the kids in my classroom to believe in me and what I'm teaching them, and I have to make sure I bring them all with me. Bringing people with you is a key part of almost any management role.

I genuinely hope that these players are miles better than we have seen and that we shrug off relegation easily.

I genuinely hope that I have underestimated this manager and fallen into the trap of wanting an established "name"

Ah, nothing. I guess that confirms it then, so we best leave it there.

Enjoy the weekend Bash...

This absolutely hits the nail on the head and even more so when you’re dealing with hundreds of millions of pounds of talent and getting paid £75k per week for the privilege.

TBF, at my work (imma junior executive logistical representative at the largest Staples in the home counties, don't you know) i put stuff on a whiteboard: magents and shit like that.

That's what footie managers do, so, therefore, i understand the travails of working in an organisation with...

- Revenue in the hundreds of millions.
- Wage bills close to the hundreds of millions.
- Viewership/fandom/supporters in the millions.
- Social media representation in the hundreds of millions.
- The central operation being performance management of some of the finest athletes in the world.
- These athletes, given their profile, experience, representation and talent ( essentially, the modern day equivalent of Roman gladiators) create the most challenging situation for the head to operate under; both psychologically and emotionally.
- Teams of hundreds - sports scientists, doctors, nutrionists, physios, analysts, other coaches, media consultants, agents etc etc - who work in partnership with the First Team management for 0.5% gains in performance.
Each department having their own structures, management, motivations and mission statements - ALL - feeding into the Head Coach.
- One or two events per week (i do the white board twice a week, so its dead similar!) where the culmination of meticulous, specific and back-breaking detail is subjected to the finest margins and minutest degrees of luck or fortune.

And the result of that?

Losing your job with zero notice, a bit of a payoff and disappearing into the ether to fade away into nothing.

Who knew JELR at Staples was just like a football manager!

Well said.

Hope is the key word isn’t it. I felt (relatively) positively about Pereira in the circumstances but would I have wanted him at the start of the season - or after we sacked Nuno? - of course not.

I am concerned by his record against bigger sides just as you are.

I’m just hoping that the injection of positivity is enough to jumpstart these players back to life and get them playing with a bit of freedom and confidence again.

None of us really know though, obviously, and tomorrow will be… interesting.

Going back to the cup game in 2022 I've always felt Liverpool dont really like playing at the CG. Even when they've won they've laboured, and Salah has never done anything when he's played here.

We have a decent record against them since promotion and I really think we'll at least get a point tomorrow.
