Pereira Out

Simple, Pass and move

And its not like pass and move is something new, Arthur Rowe was an exponent of this in the late 40s, Puskas and Hidegkuti took the piss with it in the 50s, Bill Nicholsons variation in the 60s, Pele, Tostao and Rivellino, followed by Michels and Cruyff in the 70s, Milan and Cruyff's Barcelona in the 80s and 90s, the list is endless.

And its not like clubs do not train like that; nearly every clip of every club training features them in a Rondo session.

We do it ok from deep I think to progress upfield at times

Its ball at feet closer to the opposition box we run out of ideas

But so do other teams against us

It often needs a defensive mistake for a chance to break through.

We cant shoot at distance which makes us even easier to defend against.

Imagine Metgod v Wolves Mao?

Even the ones he didnt score the rebounds to our players following in?

Stats and the reliance of xg etc is never the whole picture. 50 crosses..as example, if most are 6ft too high and 12 foot too deep then you may as well have 100 crosses for all the good they do.

Hutchison is prime example… when he gets a decent cross in Jesus/lucca and others have scored. But it’s 1 in 10/15 attempts at best, but we still pump in shit balls that hit side netting, can’t beat first man etc

Surely it’s better to have 10 crosses a game with 6-7 causing danger than 50 where 1 might worry keeper?

The EPL stats on crosses leading to goals are scarily poor

Something like 70 crosses needed on average for a goal

Not sure whether follow ups are counted in that. Hopefully not as nobody would ever cross.

Barcelona under Pep would never cross a ball. Only pass it.

Was good to see him taking Anderson and our forwards off. We will need them on Sunday. Not expecting it but it would be lovely to do the double over the victims…
I would take a draw...Liverpool are always Liverpool and we are fourth from bottom.
Let's hope that other results go in our favour so a draw would be precious.

Dear Forest fans,
I'm a Fenerbahçe supporter, and I really know and love Vítor Pereira. He came to Fenerbahçe twice, and each time he made a real impact. Our league isn't fair—politics plays a big role—so we couldn't win the championship with him. He's an incredible coach and will definitely be one of the top 3 most qualified managers in the Premier League.
In his second spell with us, he brought Arda Güler up from the youth academy and gave him first-team chances. He gave Ferdi Kadıoğlu a starting spot and turned him into a full-back. He brought Kim Min-jae from China through his own connections.
He quickly understands players' best positions and how good they really are. He's outstanding at developing players. He gets his teams to play a very systematic, almost video-game-like style: extremely compact, with intense pressing. He loves running, hardworking players and sets up a game that suffocates opponents in their own half.
If he's given a good squad, he could even win the Europa League—his staff is excellent, and his team is brilliant at analyzing opponents in knockout ties. That said, Forest's position in the league is tough right now, and I think your fixture list is harder compared to your rivals. If they can quickly get through this rough patch and if Vítor can settle more comfortably in Europe, he absolutely has the capacity to win the Europa League. His coaching staff includes world-class coaches and friends who have achieved great things.
Vítor is an underrated coach—he's definitely more flexible and capable of playing big-team football than Nuno.Today you absolutely dominated Fenerbahçe; no team has crushed us like this in a long time. Honestly, Vítor Pereira out-tacticed us, and I was expecting it haha.
If you give him time and stand behind him, Nottingham Forest could return to their old glory days with him.
Best of luck!

Good article in The Guardian including quotes from MGW and Murillo, on what they make of Pereira:

Yeah, this is what MGW said when Dyche rocked up…

I would rather judge by what they do on the pitch so last night was a great start but given my stalkers comments about me not believing in new manager bounce, let’s see what’s happening in 5 or 6 games time. Hopefully the pints (and points) are flowing.

Good article in The Guardian including quotes from MGW and Murillo, on what they make of Pereira:

“We have to keep working hard, that’s the main point, run a lot, more communication inside the pitch,” Murillo said. “We did this [against Fenerbahce]. Believing in his [Pereira’s] work is most important. We had some problems with the last gaffers but now we have to keep looking forward and grab his idea so that we can come back towards the top again.”

Morgan Gibbs-White praised Pereira for immediately fostering an identity, a sentiment echoed by Murillo. “The most important thing is we’ve got his idea. Before the game he had everybody together, all the players, staff, physios. That is the most important thing. It makes the team stronger. It is just the beginning but I think he will do a great job.”

Regardless of how you feel about Pereira, don’t see how you can argue now that we should have stuck with Dyche.

One of our best players openly acknowledging he’d lost the dressing room.

His position had clearly become untenable. To support the manager over the wishes of the leadership group in the dressing room would have been suicide.

There were quite a few posts of a similar nature on X in the lead-up to the game; they all have fond memories of him.

Two of the lads in the office, who originate from Istanbul, were quite effusive about our performance today.

Turns out they are both Gala supporters and hate Fenerbache with passion.
