Pay on Day prices

Sheffield Wednesday have sold out more than a week in advance for our game. This suggests the pricing policy was wrong, this should have been a £30 match.

May as well make season cards £600-00 a chuck then. Sell many less but take more money.
Why do all these happy clappers love to see full away ends and empty seats in the home ends. Jesus!!!!

Because the home ends will never get full. Even towards the end of the Premier League days we didn't sell out against anybody. If we give tickets away there'll be loads of empty seats.

It does make you wonder. Today the club have had a widely successful open day with 1500+ kids and their families. Meeting the manager, staff and players. Tours around the stadium and day long entertainment.

You can see from social media what a positive impact this has. Experiences that will last long in the memory and have them badgering their parents to get along to Latics games, buy the latest kit, memorabilia etc.

That’s the future of the club. I don’t see much point fighting the corner of middle-aged blokes, who’ll spend £50 quid in the boozer of a weekend, but turn their noses up at £25 for a Latics game.

Exactly the opposite, hundreds of kids won't be going to the Wednesday match because for mum dad and two kids, programme and refreshments it's out of their price range so they'll have a day at the beach instead. But that's ok just as long as we sell lots of tickets to the big city clubs fans.
I know dad shouldn't be a tight get and should get a credit card and pay for a season ticket on the tick even though he can only go to a limited number of matches a season through having to work Saturdays to afford everything else the pressures of a family bring.
Fine that because Villa will sell their tickets. That's ok cos Stoke will pay the going rate.

Stop being so stupid, Jeff. If you think people can't afford it why would they buy programmes and refreshments on top.
Your only there for a few hours, you cannot use those two things in your argument. Many many people don't buy programs and refreshments.

Were we full when seats were cheaper? Should we just give up on making what little revenue we make and cut back on the wage bill or start increasing debt to subsidies tickets? What would be anacceptable gain in numbers to loss of revenue ratio? The price is not set out of meaness it is set where it is due to basic supply and demand. If they believed the level of demand was there so they charge 10 quid less and increasing numbers enough to offset it they would but history tells us that is not going to happen so why risk reducing revenue when the basic economics don't suggest it will work?

If u are a parent you pay full price but children tickets are dirt cheap. Take in your own food and drink in your pockets and do young kids really need a programme?

If u buy an adult ticket and take 2 young kids to 1 game a month it will cost you less than £40. If u bought 1 adult and 2 child season tickets on direct debit you'd pay about £10-15 less and get double the number of games per month. An afternoons out approx every other weekend working out at about £5 per head for a parent and 2 kids is prob cheaper than taking your kids to most other activities. And if parents cant afford that then chances are they wouldn't be able to afford to take the kids out full stop. If your kids want to go see a big pop star that will prob cost a lot more for 3 tickets to 1 night than 23 game with a season tickets. Nothing is cheap these daysand it's inescapable that the club needs to maximise revenue as we've got another thread complaing we've not got enough money to afford to sign anyone...

The pop star analogy isn’t compatible though pop stars are the top half of the prem were more local bands starting out . Quick question given the football on offer this season how much would you guys pay for a season ticket.

I'm sure the average non-attending moaner is not married with 2 kids or if married - what are the chances that his wife and kids would want to go to the game?

The Wednesday supporting families seem to be able to manage the price okay, when will you get it into your head that the vast majority of wiganer would not go to ANY of the towns sporting teams no matter how cheap it was! That's what the club have decided after years of cut price deals and offers! Sadly most Wiganer just don't care!!
