Pay on Day prices

jeffs right

Vital Football Hero
Not been announced yet, nor has anything been announced yet on purchasing books of 5, 10, 15 etc. Maybe hanging on to see how many season cards are sold. Could have played a beauty this season with much higher away numbers expected. £30 - £35 for them would have been a way to keep pay on the day prices for home fans and casuals low.
No more than £20 a match for home fans in East or West but in comparable seats to away fans £30 - £35.
Seems pretty simple and still much much more than season card prices.

Absolutely ridiculous pricing and a certain way to isolate even more fans.
This is so negative by the powers that be at Latics.

Did you expect anything less? Like it or not away fans will make up a massive part of our income this season. It’s very likely that we could see two sell out away ends in August alone. The club have no choice but to cash in on them especially in our financial situation. Yes it’s very bad for us if we want to attract floating fans, but realistically we simply don’t have a choice.

Simply way of both cashing in on away fans and at least making an effort to keep and encourage casual and new fans who do not want to commit to splashing out on a season card or going into debt is right at the beginning of this thread.
Why do the club want to encourage empty seats?

They would have done their research which would show that any fickle fans buying a book of 5 and if we are not near the top would be unlikely to purchase any more.

I understand it can be a lot of money for some households but the club are not a registered charity its a business.

With a monthly direct debit in place and with one of the cheapest season ticket in this league making it viable for all parties.

It's going to look very empty in the home seats if these sort of ticket prices continue. Virtually no on the day sales. Very few ticket sales in advance. Remember not all season ticket holders go to all games either. Imagine a shit day in winter, we are struggling yet again and are selling players. Jesus it'll be like we've been relegated. But hey ho the away end will be full.

It's the Wigan public that's to blame. They won't come if it's £15. There will still be loads of empty seats. Why not get more for the seats that they know will be occupied. It makes good sense.

People want to sign experienced players and us to challenge for a PL place but yet don't want to pay for either a very cheap season ticket (available on monthly DD) or the lower end of the going rate to watch Championship football.
The club needs to bring some money in to try to compete in the Championship and for all the moaning about high prices, when the POTD prices were reduced they failed to attract enough people to attend.
Tried various offers, and no doubt there will still be some more to come, but all have failed to increase revenue or indeed significantly increase attendance. So the club has to make some more money somehow and by setting matchday prices at this level they will make some from away fans.
They can't rely on their own fans so have to resort to the away fans.

Pretty sure a number of games last season where £26-£28. With Season Card pricing and payment options anyone who wants to watch us can do so for a very reasonable price.

BTW, Sheffield Wednesday have asked for the full 4,550 allocation.

More typical miserable fault finders. Our prices are very good and cheaper than most of not all other clubs in Championship and eve league 1. For goodness sake back the club.

Split on this. We get fleeced as away fans going to places like Wednesday so I'm glad we're finally reciprocating in kind.

On the other hand it does nothing nothing to encourage the casual home supporter. I think a way around it is to offer more reasonably priced tickets in the east and west and keep the south prices comparable with the north stand where we house away supporters. We often stick all the freebies such as school kids in the south so I think we could still do that without falling foul of the efl rules.

If Wednesday sell out then yet again it will prove our casual support is still lacking!

Back the club???? £28-00 is a ridiculous price to pay and it's verging on disgusting.

Exactly how the thread started. A way of attracting more home fans and monopolising on away followings.

Then back the club and buy a season ticket. Casuals at latics are few and far between. When things go well and a good cup draw the bandwagons come out till then we have good genuine fan base that will rise only as the team does better.
