Pablo Maffeo 2016-17

I would do the same BD, but knowing pep he will go three at the back pack the midfield and SA10 will be lucky to get a seat on the berti

I thought he had a good game, and Navas did as a consequence.

By that, it seemed to me, off the evidence of the first half, that Navas had to do the job himself, as Maffeo didn't seem to provide that overlapping support that we've been used to seeing from Zabaleta and Sagna.

Or am I being too harsh and myopic? :048:

Fair shout, it's been more of a common theme under Pep though that our full backs don't overlap as much as under Pellegrini or Mancini. We've seen this with the full backs moving central for example. I think the idea is to give our wingers more space so they can take their full back on in one on one situations.

Navas was excellent first half but Shaw and his man boobs was helped out by Pogba dropping into that left midfield area when we had possession second half, this gave Navas less space to work in and Shaw started to nullify him as s result, the linesman allowing Shaw to clean Navas out helped their cause too.

I thought the lad did his cause a world of good last night. He's certainly good enough to cover injuries there. As Buzz said though, we're likely to go 3 at the back

Not quite convinced on Garcia at the moment JB, he gave it all that first 45 minutes and did very well but faded badly in the 2nd half. I feel he just needs to learn to pace himself. I do not think he will start tomorrow, but who knows?
