3/5 The season ends, we are 11th in the table on 61 points with a 53.8% win percentage over Sheehan’s 13 games in charge

To get automatic promotion from the Championship, a team typically needs a win rate of around 50% to 60%. This translates to needing around 86-90 points in a season. In the past decade, the average number of points needed for automatic promotion has been around 89.9. Sheff Utd miss out on auto spot with 90 points.

To reach the play-offs teams generally need around 73 points, which translates to a win rate of around 40%. Bristol City just made 6th place and the play-offs with 68 points.

I just hope we get off to a good start in the new season. Last thing we want is a poor start and it looks like it was a mistake Sheehan was given the job. He’s done really well, playing good football at times and winning ugly at times, I think he’ll be a success during his tenure but would worry if our season got off to a poor start.

Portsmouth was the last straw for me and I wanted Luke gone after that.

Absolute criminal how he had 9 more games after that.

Then he lost 3-0 against rock bottom Cardiff.

And then he was given another 6 games.

And we get hammered 5 at Norwich. And he gets another 4 after that!!

The turnaround under Sheehan nobody expected. Maybe a few wins here and there and we finish comfortably safe.

But the instant turnaround, going from bottom to near the top of the form table makes you wonder wtf was Luke Williams doing down here.

He clearly lost the dressing room. The players couldn't have had any faith in for a long time before he was sacked.

We shouldn't have given the job to a league 2 manager and I hope we've not made the same mistake with Sheehan who also lacks the experience.

After all we seem to be spending a bit this summer and I hope it's not wasted with the appointment of manager not up to the level
