I think problem with most of them on that list ‘not getting much of a mention’ Dave is that 90% of Blades that would have voted for them are kicking up the daisies.

Just trying to imagine these players getting off the team coach with the blacked out windows and there headphones wrapped around their lugs😂.
Always amazes me that the team coaches have blacked out windows, but in a hours time they'll be running around a field in front of 30000 plus fans. Sign of the times I suppose.

Gentleman John told Trevor when he signed him,You're job is to win the ball and give it to GOD(TC).JOE SHAW was just about finishin his playin career when i started goin but my Dear owd departed DAD used to tell me Joe was the best uncapped centre half ever.UTB

Your dad was spot on.
True MHMF- a proper footballing centre half who could pass the ball out as well as any I've seen. Read the game, made interceptions, distributed well and rarely beaten in the air even though not the tallest. An early Beckenbauer.

More recently David Holdsworth had similar qualities to Joe.

Joe Shaw the maestro, centre half superb and to think the brainless England manager Walter Cold Arse picked the pig donkey Swan instead! The twat knew as much about football as I do about brain surgery! Got to mention Alan "Sherman" Birchenall. all left foot but deffo knew how to score against the pigs!
"Two Goal Birchenall Sinks Owls!!"

RONNIE WALDOCK, what a star! A legend in your own lifetime :ROFLMAO:
I’m not far behind Dave by the way, he’s just got a far better memory for names than me. I have to rely on reference books and old programs for anything pre Covid. :hmmm: 😂

What about Jimmy Hagan.?
By the way Rod your dear old dad obviously had a good eye for football. Joe Shaw was way before his time.,a cultured defender. Beckenmbaur must have learned from him.

Leigh Bromby, was a stalwart utility player. Always fitted in where you put him and had a throw in that won many goals.

Cheers Leigh...!

Fred Furness - toe end penalty taker (and very good at it)
Albert Cox - not much got past him. The ball might, but not the winger.
