So I just read that Aitor is taking some of the youth players with the squad to Portugal which is nice.
He is also taking Thomas Lam as Worrall and Figs are carrying injuries. Worrall has been injured for a long time. I was just wondering if anyone knows of the injuries they are carrying and how long they can be expected to be out for.
 
I am writing this based on info in the media and am not ITK. I think Worrall sustained an injury end of last season which he recovered from and has now sustained another early on and has missed most of pre season training. Prognosis unsure. Figi's is very recent. He has been involved in pre season and must have picked up something whilst training over the past 10 days.

Lam has had some good reviews, playing abroad and is young enough to learn. Doubt whether he is physically able to play in a centre defence position but may fit in a back three. He played most of last season as a defensive midfield and this will be a big chance for AK to run his eyes over him and see if he can fill this position.

Imagine he could go out on loan for 6/12 to another championship side or league one team if they feel he has potential. Otherwise its off to Europe again.
 
Thanks for that info fella. Playing 3 at the back is risky with so many preseason games so close together and same again for the season with only 4 senior defenders who intends to use.
Its a pity that Mancienne can't get it together as I reckon he could be decent on the right of a back 3.
 
so as at present our central defensive pairing is ; Fox and Dawson ...maybe good in the air but a bit slow when it comes to breaks ... in regard Lam... I doubt many in here saw any of his games from last season, so I leave it for AK to judge the fella, the kid is still young and a year (were he played regular football) is a long time in a football pro life, so all this `need to bulk up etc`, might be a bit outdated...
 
Daws didnt look slow last night to be honest. He looked as sharp as any of our players. Fox was very vocal throughout tho. Seems Watson given the armband for the season, maybe the boss thinks Daws wont play as many matches cos to me Daws has twice the presence
