The media has absolutely loved tearing him down, even though he’s been the x-factor in a couple of World Cup wins (ODI and T20), and turned a boring, awful Test side into an entertaining, average one. A rare English player who enjoyed and thrived under pressure, and is probably a better bowler than batsman, even if his greatest feats have generally been with the bat.

Really, Rob Key and Brendon McCullum should be out of the door with him.

Can’t disagree. Massive hole in this England team now
Brook isnt ready and Root doesn’t want it

Unbelievable stuff at Wimbledon.

A British Wildcard, Arthur Fery, just beat the 9th seed in the quarter final in straight sets, winning the third 6-0.

That is absolutely insane.

The last wildcard to get this far was Ivanisovic who went on to win in 2001.

He didn't just sneak through, he was utterly dominant, calm and composed.

He was ranked 190th in the world at the beginning of the season.

Has he got through?

That's brilliant

Having a bit of a Raducanu moment, hopefully unlike her it won't be just a moment.

Been following this guy over the week but not had the chance to actually watch, may try and catch the semi

Yeah he was absolutely dominant. I've not seen anything like it in years from a wildcard.

Not a fan of tennis really, but great to see a British underdog progress in such a manner. Good luck to him be great to see him go all the way

I remember watching Ivanisevic's epic against Henman. I was about 17 at the time, can't believe it was 2001. Fery wasn't even born!

I think that was the year when Henman beat a young Roger Federer, who had already knocked out Pete Sampras. It was that long ago 🤣

I remember it too. Ivanisovic was that huge tall guys who could basically serve twice as fast as anyone else, right?

Really good to see this.

His name suggests he may have come over after catching a large boat with only 50% of it's passengers onboard chap.
Sure, mate.

Inspired by his mode of transport, i wonder if young Arthur will form a sponsorship with a purveyor of roll-on deodorants, chap?
