Panthers beat Torpedo 4-2 to become Continental Cup champions for the second time. Big deal- the conti cup is basically equivalent to the Conference League (there is a Champions League equivalent but there isn't really a Europa League equivalent). Only Panthers and Cardiff (last year) have ever won it from the UK.

Completely controlled 57 minutes of a 60 minute game, 3-0 up, somehow managed to concede two in the final three minutes and then scored an empty netter when they pulled their keeper to have an extra attacker.

Fantastic day, great to experience that with my daughter

John Higgins in the masters final is awesome.
I'd love to see him win a major title again. I was a little kid when he made his debut. I think Brian Clough was still our manager!

Undoubtedly a legend of the game.
I just can't quite forgive him for a very late night in the crucible when neither he nor his forgettable opponent could pot a ball and everyone just wanted to go home. 😂
Probably worst I've ever seen him play throughout his career and I had a ticket.

It isn't. It's like stating a fact.
Yes, just like saying Palace are a better team than Macclesfield.

The whole point of what makes it enjoyable is Higgins managing to get to a major final and make a match out of it despite it being 10 years since he was at his best.

I don't understand the point you were trying to make, other than the absolutely obvious.

You might as well come out with revolutionary statements like "This is a game of snooker" or "that table is green!"

My apologies. I thought you meant he is awesome in the final, not being in the final.
Naah I just really like that someone way way past it can still have that competitive spirit to get themselves through a tournament.

I've always loved that aspect of sport, people playing above themselves, even for a short time, and pulling off a feat of some kind.

(Its why I love Ryan Yates so much!)

I agree. As much as it looked like I originally disagreed :p (y)

Indian fielding has been very good in the second half of the innings. Just building the pressure and keeping the run rate required high.
