Perhaps they should get Ange in some coaching capacity on a consultancy basis to help out, he should fit right in with them, "It's who we are mate"
Yes, indeed, although I have a feeling most of the players would spend a lot of time in the treatment room

It's a sad situation, really, particularly when you have been brought up watching the likes of Gooch, Pieterson, Gavasker, Tendulkar, Lara, Richards, and Waugh

Most of today's batsmen have all the style and grace of one of those geezers in Newfoundland who run around clubbing seals to death.

Shocking way to blow a test in about 4 hours from a position of strength

Anyway. About to start an all day session with my mates who have all just arrived at St Pancras

Chippy in Marylebone at 1pm, and then a pub crawl before flying back Monday nigjt

Come on Forest

I don't watch much cricket any more but clearly the powers that be decided that they no longer wanted test cricket to even be a thing.
If it wasn't for the Ashes there probably wouldn't be any test matches any more already.

The same thing is happening in chess. Everything moved online, 3 minute games instead of hours and hours, the standard went way down, results became bizarre and random and the classical chess I used to love playing and is the most fun for everyone except the top pros has all but disappeared.

In case anyone is interested, Nottingham Panthers are currently top of the Elite League. They are a huge step up from what I have seen of them in the last 4 years.

Last week they came from behind twice to equalise against Sheffield Steelers (the hated enemy who always beat us in Nottingham) in the final minute, and then take the win on penalties.

Last night they came from behind murder Glasgow 7-1

Tonight they go to the Utilita Arena to play Steelers again, who are second. Even a defeat will still keep Panthers top (on regulation wins rather than points) but a win would see them take a 4 point lead

Interesting days Cricket at the GABBA

Much better viewing than the bollox served up in Perth.

Some good bowling and batting.

Cant help think that England are playing themselves out of this one and probably the Ashes.

They started in fine fashion with some great stroke play, and Ducket can think himself unlucky to have been bowled by a tremendous delivery.

The wickets of Pope and Crawley were criminal; poor technique without question, and what the fuck was Root doing waving his bat outside off stump like that.

The one day game has a lot to answer for.

At the moment we have the 1st & 2nd ranked batsmen in world cricket, yet we are wasting them by sacrificing their talent in pursuit of the mythical "Bazball" which I think has now been proved not to work against decent team

Bazball on a pitch with a good covering of grass, playing with a pink ball is madness.

You need good technique when the ball moves around like that.

They will soon be able to change Test Matches to three days from five.

Panthers tonight play game two of a weekend triple header in Scotland.

Beat Glasgow Clan 3-4 last night, play second bottom Dundee tonight and then bottom club Fife on Sunday.

Win last night takes them back to the top of the table. Could really do with a 6 point weekend in there three away games

They’re getting mullered and the ashes are over already

Aussies without 3 of their first choice bowlers, 2 of whom will be back for Adelaide

Likely another 5-0 coming

It is so frustrating with the cricket because they can be brilliant but they haven’t prepared properly and are going to get deservedly steamrolled yesterday was a disgrace they weren’t bowling at the stumps and were dropping everything

Just got back from the Nottingham arena

Half way point of the Ice hockey season - 4 point weekend from Panthers, taken 9 of the last 12 points available (2 for a win)

Panthers top of the league by three points with their two best players injured throughout the Christmas period.

Next up is the champions, Belfast, away and then bottom club Fife.

In just under two weeks they take a break from the league and host the continental cup- basically the European ice hockey equivalent of the Conference League (if you imagine there is a Champions League but not Europa League).

First time Nottingham has ever hosted - two games a day wednesday to Friday, two groups of three, on Saturday there is a playoff game at 11, a bronze game at 2 and the final at 7.

Panthers in decent contention to win it

Those of you who live in Nottingham may see a lot of ice hockey shirts around this week.

Nottingham is hosting the Continental Cup final, a tournament of 6 European teams including Panthers. Two games a day, with three on Saturday. Panthers play tonight and Friday night to decide which game they play on Saturday.

Panthers have a real chance of winning. They have won it before in 2017, becoming the first British side to win a European trophy. Cardiff have won it more recently.

Final two group games of the continental cup today. The way it's worked out, these are both effectively semi finals.

At 2.30 Torpedo of Kazakhstan play Angers of France- winner will go through to the gold medal final tomorrow night. If Angers lose they will end up in the 5th place playoff at 11am tomorrow.

At 7 tonight Panthers play Katowice of Poland- winner goes to the final, the loser will play at 2pm tomorrow in the bronze medal game

Torpedo and Panthers look like the teams to beat.

Interesting to see the fans from Europe. The Poles are much like Malmo's ultras- standing up, jumping, singing, lots of coordination and never stop all game. Ice hockey in the UK is marketed very differently, very much at families. There is a much, much bigger proportion of female fans with ice hockey compared to footnall

Panthers beat Katowice 4-0, another international shutout, to reach tomorrow night's final for a European trophy.

I therefore have three ice hockey games tomorrow.

11am is the 5th place game between Mogo and Angers

2pm is the bronze medal game between Katowice and Henning Blue Fox

7pm the final between Panthers and Torpedo (of Kazakhstan)

Sold my Arsenal ticket in the hope that Panthers would make the final and I could experience that with my daughter. Super excited!

Nice. I hope you both enjoy it.
