I love the original, Ronnie Barker was a legend, it won't be the same without him, but it's nice that David Jason and Lynda Baron get a crack to pay respect to the series like this.

The original was class, British comedy at it's best, and a window into a better time than we know today.

Like most things the orginal was better- the Christmas special was woeful.

I agree with SKEGGY. You can count on one hand better sequels. The original was far better than the Xmas Special.

How often can you beat the original? Especially when it contained the legendary Ronnie Barker.

I prefer to think of them as tributes and not expect too much of them.
