One way perhaps to beat knife crime

Encouraging report and a good watch. Increased law and order assets are a must in order to address knife crime. But, other measures are needed, including this one - a really good example of people taking responsibility, earning admiration and inspiring vulnerable young people to take a positive direction. Well done to Hackney Wick FC founder Bobby Kasanga, best of luck to him and hopefully some central funding can be pumped into this and similar schemes.

It's quite frustrating because these initiatives don't require big money and they are patently worthwhile in any case. In other words any beneficial effect on the incidence of knife crime is a bonus. We should be encouraging loads of local stuff like this. The small society is the only route into the bigger one.

Personally I'd put everyone who is found guilty of using knives into an arena for an annual Hunger Games type event but I'm sure that'll be considered racist.

Unfortunately, if you are simply looking at the actual facts, knife crime in London has increased significantly in the four years since the club was formed.

Maybe it would be more helpful if people moved away from the idea that young black male Londoners can either be criminals or sportsmen?
