One Transfer Deadline Was Never Enough Was It

You've got to love the football authorities, if transfer deadline days weren't ridiculous enough already - they've now begun to breed.

Think it's fair enough. It makes it impossible to push through a transfer after the new deadline day, so clubs willing to sell but holding out for more have to make their mind up a lot earlier. Clubs trying to buy know that they too will have to make up their mind re buy or walk away. The killing thing at the moment is nothing happening for most of August simply because the deadline is far away.

There is a bit of fudge re loans, but don't think that matters a lot. Clubs trying to shift a player and not succeeding know that after the deadline they might as well loan the player out, rather than also hang on hoping for a sale.

The daft thing has always been the size of the window. Smaller window = get on with it.
