Hoe Street Station was a tiny little station , with the black and white painted slats on the roof of the platform covering . , a bloke with a wheelbarrow meeting every train , , a sleepy little quaint place .

1937: An LNER locomotive engine was officially named Tottenham Hotspur at Hoe Street Station in Walthamstow, with club chairman Charles Roberts leading the unveiling ceremony

  • 2019 (Audi Cup Final): Spurs beat Bayern Munich 6–5 on penalties following a 2–2 draw in regular time, with goals from Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen. [1]
  • 2025 (Club Friendly): Tottenham defeated Arsenal 1–0 courtesy of a 45th-minute goal by Pape Matar Sarr in Hong Kong.
  • 2004 (Pre-season Friendly): Spurs secured a 2–0 victory away at Nottingham Forest with goals from Frédéric Kanouté and Jermain Defoe.

Birth of forward Dickie Dowsett, who famously scored in his only First Division appearance for Spurs against Aston Villa in August 1954


He joined the list of strikers who only scored one goal for us , it’s a trait we have had for years !!

1987: Dutch international defender Johnny Metgod officially signed for Spurs from Nottingham Forest.
 
2009: Spurs beat Greek champions Olympiacos 3-0 in a dominant pre-season friendly at White Hart Lane.

2014: Tottenham played a pre-season friendly against German side Schalke 04.

1994: Spurs secured a 1-0 away friendly win over Shelbourne FC at Tolka Park in Ireland.

Arsenal 0 Spurs 0 F.A.Charity Shield (Wembley) The Champions against the Cup winners at the venue of the previous season’s amazing Cup semi-final. Gazza was missing but Spurs used the same tactics that had been successful in the semi-final. Lineker was the lone striker with five in midfield but the match failed to reach the level of the previous meeting. This was the first time that the clubs had met in the Charity Shield and with no penalties to decide an outright winner, both clubs shared the trophy.

Ipswich Town 1 Spurs 5 F.A.Charity Shield (Portman Road) The defeats by Ipswich in both League meetings during the previous season had cost Spurs the opportunity of retaining the Championship and completing a second ‘Double.’. Managed by Alf Ramsay, Ipswich had played a system that had taken most teams by surprise but in this game Spurs had found the tactics to nullify the system and won with ease. The goals were scored by Greaves(2), Medwin, White and Smith.
