A very important day in our history ….

On this day, June 29, two major milestones took place in the history of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club:[1]

1908: Election into the Football League
Following several failed attempts to join the elite, Tottenham Hotspur gained official membership into the Football League. After resigning from the Southern League, Spurs’ entry was secured in dramatic fashion.

Stoke City withdrew from the Second Division due to severe financial issues, leaving an empty spot.
After two 4-4 votes , Spurs pipped Lincoln City by a 5-3 vote to seal their place in the Second Division.
This historical shift paved the way for their promotion to the top tier just one year later.

And ………

2007: Darren Bent Breaks the Club Transfer Record
Tottenham shattered their internal financial records by signing striker Darren Bent from Charlton Athletic for a then-club record £16.5 million.
