Abbott has far more promise than Murrillo; and that's not denigrating Murrillo in any way.

Murillo did not play that bad last night, but he is still displaying the same problems - he gets dragged out of position far too often.

I would not be overly harsh on him over their first goal, which was a brilliant bit of play which would have fooled most defenders.

As for playing him in midfield; that's a fucking insane idea - if he cannot maintain any positional discipline playing at the back, he would not stand a chance in midfield.

Abbott is a class act; he will be a superstar - I just hope we can get a few years out of him here before he is snapped up by one of the big clubs.
Well Abbott has only just turned 18

And we are saying murillo is young at 22

So how many years do we want from Abbott?

And how do we make the most of Murillo whilst we have him?

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Southampton and Nottingham Forest are showing interest in Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

Sabah today report on the situation with Kadıoğlu and say Southampton and Nottingham Forest are the latest English sides looking to sign the left back.

There is no way Murillo was at fault for their first goal as it was brilliant play from the winger. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up to great play.

a concern last night. near the end - cross into the box - murillo didnt even jump with his man - let him have a free header.

They'd just brought that striker on (he was really tall), Murillo had signalled to come off & it was a good cross.

We gave the ball away cheaply, as we did for their other goals - so more than Murillo at fault for that one.

Sangare looks a different player & the signing of Anderson looks better & better!

We were far better than Oly, then brought on CHO, Danillo & Elanga (for Sangare, MGW & Dominguez) and they could not deal with the 2 wingers.

At 4-1 we were coasting and whilst we did concede 2 more, the changes disrupted all of our play in midfield & defence.

Scored 4 away from home, could have been more and I'd say Nuno has a selection headache - which is real progress!

I dont recall mentioning the word young, so why bring it up?

Although 22 is certainly not old, by any stretch of the imagination, and definitely not for a defender, particularly when that defender has not yet played 50 senior games.

How many years do I want from Abbott?

As many as we can get.

How do we make the most of Murrillo?

Get someone at the side of him who can talk him through games; someone who will tell him in no uncertain terms to get back into position when he drifts off.

Milenkovic may be that player; it remains to be seen.

Sangare is starting to look the part; Anderson gets better with every game, and I thought Dominguez has looked superb in the friendlies.

We look very strong in midfield, and its a long time since we could say that.

That in itself poses a problem for Nuno; we do not look good enough to go with a back 4 which means losing that player in midfield, where we look the strongest, to go with 3 at the back with 2 wing backs

.

Elanga interview with Fray was superb. He’s on it mentally for this season and really wants to make a difference and bring a different threat to his game.
Watch it if you haven’t seen it

Agree with those who think we need another CB. Bijol or if Murillo did go to Chelsea, they have a collection of CBs to throw into the mix

Honestly I would prefer 2 quality defensive centre backs together

Where one doesn't have to carry the other

If we aren't playing 3 together at the back

It's hard enough at EPL level for a centre back just to do their own job well enough

But we have to make allowances all of the time ?

3 at back sorts the Murillo weakeness and allows him to use his strengths more AND plays to strengths of our full backs at the same time

It's a no brainer for me Mao

Can't see point of Murillo in 4 at the back

It's a problem defending and it stops him getting forward at same time

The Miguel situation is a little concerning - still want another keeper, Turner getting more minutes and now Miguel not even making squads. Hope it’s injury, but is it that he’s just a bit shit?
someone suggested to me that he struggled after some intensive training sessions, so maybe just not fit enough.. He only played a few first team games over there so i guess thats possible

Awoniyi still incapable of starting a pre-season game. Looks like he's going to need until after the first international break to get going
thats even more frustrating with him,if he misses ten games with injury he also takes 5 games to get up tp speed

Like I said yesterday, beating Olympiakos is a big moment for Forest. It's only a friendly, but the Marinakis project has always been about making Forest better than Olympiacos because the PL is where the money and prestige is.

Last night demonstrated that we have finally overtaken them in terms of quality on the pitch.

Yes, I would, but you asked the question " how do we make the most of Murrillo?", and I presumed that not playing him would not be the answer you was looking for.

at home we want more attacking players on the pitch, so an extra attacking midfilder is probably better than an attacking wb

Yes, but Murrillo aside, what to you think the best line up would be if we want to make the most of the talent we have?

To me, that means playing a back 4 with the extra midfield player
