Olympiacos Vs Nottingham Forest sponsored by Kaiser Chiefs

Their keeper was awful but Anderson’s deliveries were fantastic and you can only score if you are in the right positions.

Elanga showed in one run exactly how frightened of him teams should be. If he gets the ball on the run with defenders back-pedalling he can do some damage to any team.

And I would love to see Yates step up again and start getting goals in the Prem. Even half a dozen would do…

a concern last night. near the end - cross into the box - murillo didnt even jump with his man - let him have a free header.

Every point will still be tough to win

And we will still need to treat every game like a cup final to max out our results

Soon as we think we are good enough for this league complacency sneaks in to the players and the fans

You have to work your bollox off for every point in this league

I agree with this but the starting position has completely changed. we actually have the ability to do more than cling onto games. what I hope to see this year is not just survival but a real hunger to improve.

their keeper was shit but still had better distribution than sels imo

Joe Worrall, who turns 28 in January

Murillo, who only turned 22 last month

But even if Murillo does improve as a defender (age 23 or 24) we won't actually get the benefit as we are his stepping stone

I wish we had cashed in on him for big money

If that was ever a possibility

As a centre back if we end up getting 15M for him we will have done well I think

He's just not a centre back

don't really want to feed Wolfie but he was off the pace. he is young, no bad thing to have his feet placed back on the ground
Its not feeding me mate

It's just what it is

He's a great footballer but he's not a great defender.

You can't hide in that position. The flowery stuff he does when not defending is why he's highly rated. But first and foremost he has to be a great defender in a 2 man centre back pairing

He's got problems if that's our formation

Simple as that

I would personally sell danillo and pair Murillo with Sangare when we play 4 at the back or rotate Murillo and Sangare and get a better option at CD to play in a four

Ahh so players who are just as young the same age as Murillo are fine to use the word
Your wish maybe granted yet. Chelsea have sold Gallagher to Athletico for £33m so they have a lot of leeway in PSR if they offer a 5 year contract. They can also chuck in a couple of CB’s and a striker.

Abbott

And ones around Murillos age who haven't said we are just a stepping stone to a bigger club

Ps Abbott is probably a better centre back defensively than Murillo as it is!
Abbott has far more promise than Murrillo; and that's not denigrating Murrillo in any way.

Murillo did not play that bad last night, but he is still displaying the same problems - he gets dragged out of position far too often.

I would not be overly harsh on him over their first goal, which was a brilliant bit of play which would have fooled most defenders.

As for playing him in midfield; that's a fucking insane idea - if he cannot maintain any positional discipline playing at the back, he would not stand a chance in midfield.

Abbott is a class act; he will be a superstar - I just hope we can get a few years out of him here before he is snapped up by one of the big clubs.
