In my defence, the last summer appointment we made was Sabri Lamouchi in 2019, so I'm a bit out of practice in terms of what is normal for a manager appointed over the summer. Usually our appointments are mid season and start on day one

No, he will have been at work since he shook hands on the deal.

It would have been totally impossible to turn up for day one with the players without any preparation.

He will have gone through countless videos assessing the players strengths and weaknesses; he will want to know as much about each individual player as he can before he met them - now that he has got to meet them, the emphasis will be on individual personalities and how he is going to handle them.

He will have got his backroom team together, got them signed up and got them started - they will have been at work before yesterday sorting things out like training schedules and prepping for the upcoming freindlies.

Pre season for managers commences the minute the old season ends; Glasner has already missed a good chunk of that so he will be playing catch up.

Yes, of course he will have been on it for a long time. For all we know, he could have been watching Forest videos since the end of may

The original point of mine was that it was unusual for a manager to be appointed but not have a proper welcome interview or words to the fans within a couple of days.

That media "mystery" was then solved when it appeared his first official day was monday. Hence the media work only starting then

No one was ever suggesting that he sat at home twiddling his thumbs. The discussion was about the media work only
