Oliveira Omission From German Trip

Oli is going. Martin travelling is strange. Tettey not travelled but down to virus.

26 man squad and is it 28 is maximum.
 
Maybe DF tried to get Martin a ticket on a holiday flight to Spain
but it went wrong and he caught plane to Germany :grinning:

So I guess the GKs this season will be McGovern, Matthews and Oxborough.
 
DG, I do wonder if he might be given it. I think DF wants to give Matthews ago but if he doesn't impress during the German tour ten he might look to loan a new GK. DF will still see McGovern as an n2. We had been linked with Ward who it seems Liverpool will give the number 1 top, the other lad has gone to sheffield United and the Newcastle lad is the only one still left from the list.

I think it would be unfair on Matthews as this is his 1st real chance to play for the club and will need time. I felt the guys on Pink Un/EDP were a little harsh saying he hasn't impressed and that he doesn't have the same presence as Gunn - totally different GKs.
 
I see Pink Un basically saying that it is up to Oli to get himself back in the 1st team but he isn't playing for the u23s so how can he get match fit and show he is ready to come back in? If he suddenly just appears players like Idah, Spyrou and others will probably start thinking what is the point of doing what we are if he just gets back in.

Why isn't Oli playing for the U23s? Is it that he doesn't want to play?
 
One the highest paid earners at the club doing nothing while we pay the dodgy Rhodes to do his work . What a well run club !
