Old Photos of Sincil Bank

Over the years I’ve taken a few photos of the redevelopment of the Bank.

To contrast with the latest, amazing pics of the Territory, I thought I’d share a few, in the hope that others can join in and perhaps share a gem.

I do think it warrants a new thread.

All were taken with 35mm film and digitised by photographing 7x5 prints with my phone.

If the club is ok from a copyright point of view, there are some other classic shots amongst my collection of Promotion Year Books etc which could be shared in a similar way.

That would be the Sincil Bank stand with a seating capacity of 400 dating from 1899. Also known at various times as 'the Working Men's Stand', and the Sincil Drain stand. It was demolished in 1948.

Most likely. Fantastic shot as it shows the West Bank with the little stand on it. Looks like the banking only filled half the length at this time. A front shot is in the latest History record

Glad I didn’t crop you off..!
Judging from the kit, with the big yellow number patch, I think it was Big Keith’s 1st Season in charge, 93/94. I can’t remember the opposition though.

Having a little play trying to upload some old images of The Bank.

I was hoping some of the old ground might have survived the recent upgrades so us old boys could bang on and reminisce about the good old days at The Bank (said tongue in cheek of course).

I was hoping some of the old ground might have survived the recent upgrades so us old boys could bang on and reminisce about the good old days at The Bank (said tongue in cheek of course).

Great to see the old ground from different angles. I’d almost forgotten how shallow the West corner of the Railway end was, before broadening out as it swept round the NE corner (which is fenced off in your photo, taken after the roof was dismantled).
