It is a really good read, Skoorb.

When I first heard about it, I must admit I did raise an eyebrow, taking into account that notorious piece, which is burned into everyone's mind, alongside the Sunday Supplement Fulham/Hughes episode.
 
I've read elsewhere that Lawton grew up a City fan.

The ironic thing about this is that that team that he's writing about in this book finished 13th when they were defending their title in 1969, a much more feeble defence than the one Lawton penned his article about 40 odd years later.
