oh dear

My guess is it was pulled out of thin air Elmag. Gouffran was around 1 million, sissoko around 1.8, Debuchy about 6 million, Mbiwa about 8 (I think) and Haidara was about 2. (Although these are estimates, I could be wrong, but I don't think these numbers are far off) That comes to a total of 19 million, so unless that 31 million also factors in their wages up until the end of next season they've just pulled it out their backside and are hoping noone questions it.

I think he was alluding to this article manx http://www.footballfriendsonline.com/blogs/2013/5/2/newcastle-manager-will-be-sacked-if-club-get-relegated-to-th.html?

Hence why the players are playing shit. They must know Pardew will be sacked if we get relegated, it's the only way they can make a statement that they don't want to play for the clueless bastard. Obviously Wigan will have to do their stuff as well but there's something very wrong going on

Incidentally, I've seen that £31mill figure quoted about a week ago. yet more lazy journalsim where they lift stuff from the net, without even any attempt to check it's validity.

sorry, must have forgotten to paste the link, it is mentioned again in this article today....

These journalists are shit. Why do any research when you can just nick someone else's inaccuracies. Even more disturbing is the much repeated story that he'll only be sacked "if Newcastle go down". Can't we stay up and get shot of him then?

I actually think if we get relegated there's more chance that Pardew will keep his job

Interesting thought SPB, to be fair the odds of us getting the kind of replacement that the supporters want in the championship are nowhere near as good as getting a decent replacement if we stay up.

It is easier to sell sacking Pardew for a manager with less experience if we end up in the Championship.

Let's not forget that the last time Pards took a team down, he was sacked before he took them down a 2nd consecutive time.

In the Championship, they can justify a Lee Clark, or if they can not stand up to a Geordie manager, the likes of Billy Davies or David O'Leary.

In the Premier League they have to look at the likes of Di Matteo, Scolari and Rafa at the very least.

It will all come out in the wash and defeat at West Ham might see one of those come in next week.

Im not so sure as he seemed a lot more upbeat in his pre match interviews this week as if he was given an assurance his job was safe regardless of what division we were in.
