Official Transfer Window Thread - Summer 2026

Ennis looked disinterested when he came back after injury, real disappointment how he didn't look after himself, especially how fantastic he looked the season before.
Make or break season ahead for him.
He's just one of those players that needs to play week in week out to stay fit. If he (for injury/form) has a stint out of the team or off the bench, it seems a real struggle to get him back to full fitness.

I never believed the idea that there would be a massive clear out this Sumner and based on results from our run in, I am not sure that more than a few tweaks and a good injury free pre season is required.

FLW understands that Exeter midfielder Reece Cole is a man in-demand this summer, with a number of League One clubs looking to give him the opportunity to make a quick return to the level.

Luton Town, Blackpool and Reading are all interested in doing a deal for the 28-year-old playmaker, who has one year remaining on his contract at St James Park, with City likely to cash in for the right price amid their struggling financial situation.

Having come through the Brentford youth system, following a stint at non-league Hayes & Yeading United, Cole would play just once at senior level for the Bees, whilst also taking in loan stints at Newport County, Yeovil Town, Maidenhead United, Macclesfield Town and Partick Thistle before his departure from Griffin Park in 2020.

Newport County have signed defender Dan Sassi after he was released Blackpool.

The centre-back, 22, moves to League Two having played 42 games while on loan at National League club Altrincham last season.

This is a logical step up for him. My neighbour has just purchased a Newport season ticket ( standing up and no cover from the weather) , so hopefully Dan gets a good number of games and shows how much he has learned at Altrincham.

Just read Franchise have signed Dan Barlaser. He would have been a good fit for us.
Decent player, but i’m not sure he’s what we need. He’s a playmaker and we’ve got enough lightweight non-athletic midfielders. I’m expecting a lot more from Morgan this year, sounds like the club held him back at the end of the season to ensure he was fully fit for this. If we got another CM it would need to be an athletic Anderson type to do the running.

Blackpool are believed to be on the verge of securing a season-long loan move for Middlesbrough‘s Finley Munroe.

The Tangerines are looking to improve
their squad ahead of the new season, with Ian Evatt’s side facing a close brush with relegation in the final weeks of the 2025/26 campaign.

Boro Business Allows Blackpool Swoop

Blackpool have been weighing up a few players on trial during their first pre-season games of the summer, with Andy Yiadom known to have participated in their friendly with Tranmere Rovers over the weekend.

However, according to the Northern Echo, their latest piece of business may come from elsewhere, with it being reported that left-back Finley Munroe is on the brink of a loan move to Bloomfield Road.

The 21-year-old only moved to Middlesbrough in January on a permanent deal from Aston Villa, with the Teesside club beating Bristol City to his signature following his impressive loan spell at Swindon Town in League Two.

However, having played just three times for Kim Hellberg in his senior team, the defender’s fortunes have slightly turned at the Riverside, with it being reported that Boro are eyeing a new left-back for their ranks this season amid links to Columbus Crew’s Max Arfsten.

That has forced them into sanctioning a loan move in order to stop his minutes being limited, with Blackpool expected to sign the 21-year-old imminently
