If spurs get solanke then i think that might leave us in pole for the Mexican lad and now the 'south american' thing is a big given

Likely funded when a first teamer is sold, and it should be a loan with option/obligation for Ramsdale. Still need to move Turner and a few more. Can see any move for a goalie being a deadline day deal after the priorities are sorted first.
Winger, CF, LB and then a keeper. Sels is fine for August games

One day you might agree with me that having the best keeper you can is a bigger priority than 3 centre forwards, 4 wingers or 6 centre mids etc

But I think that's some time off

But I guess the odd couple of points or more we lose in August is "fine" (your words not mine) if we leave that position til later

Nothing against sels. But if there are better options available then they should be a priority just as much as the more flowery positions

And every point can count for something

Including Europe if we want to show that kind of ambition and intent

So don't discount the value of points in August Finbar

They all count at the end the same at the end of the season

Your immediate point here is we are already losing points before a ball is kicked.

We also can't spend recklessly due to this bullshit PSR crap which seems is solely designed to inhibit 'smaller' teams while the 'elite' get away with football murder.

In terms of goalies, if cash want an issue, then that Georgian fella at Valencia is absolute top drawer and I can't believe no-one has gone in for him yet.

A Ramsdale loan wont be cheap. 125k a week wages, plus a loan fee which is likely to be somewhere between 2-5m at a total guess.

If Chelsea and their mad penchant for acquiring every player under the sun, do actually fancy Murillo for 70m, or 45m plus Chalobah, then you have your budget for a keeper, CF, LB and another CB

Sels is fine. If he was our keeper for the season I wouldn’t complain. If we want to push up the table properly though, you are right and we would need someone better. Someone like Ramsdale who might be worth another half dozen points.

Of course Arsenal had a better defence than Citeh last season but Citeh scored more goals and won the league again :0

tricky, hows it go, points per match, then divided by points per million quid per year, multiplied by the xgc90? do bonus points come into it? less bps for keepers this year :*

I still feel if we want a 30m+ striker we will sell someone, poss danillo or elanga. But I feel/hope they will want to stay and therefore we will go that loan route for the striker

Any weakness that sels might have is only a problem when the opposition get within shooting range. But all is good, when Nuno follows the accepted 3+2 defensive formation. Shilton wasn’t in goal when we won the league cup against Liverpool.
 
Feyenoord lad sounds like he doesn't want to come doesnt it?

I think Eddie is an under rated player and of the two Id choose him. Seems like I'm in a minority tho and folk would prefer an unproven one with a sexier name. I got it wrong about spending 30m+ without selling tho it seems
