That seems to be predicting we will win 7, draw 2 and lose 3 of our last 12 games.

Looking at the fixtures the 7 wins looks about right, so the difference between auto and playoffs could be those other 5 games. Draw 4 and only lose 1 and that'd give us 88 points which should see us up.

A bit of wisdom here:

Every game is massive now.

end of wisdom.

You are all very welcome. :14:

5 of our next 6 games are against clubs currently in the bottom 9.

The other game is at home to Wolves who are bang out of form.

14 points minimum!

I think it'll be closer.

I recon:
Wolves
Villa
Cardiff

With 6 points or less separating all three.

I just have a funny feeling in my tummy that the cold snap and some pressure from us and Cardiff, we'll see Wolves have a wobbly patch and we'll be in a two horse race to catch them. But ultimately Cardiff will falter and we'll just make it over the line.

Don't know why. Maybe it's recent form that's giving me some optimism.

Here's another interesting stat.

Our next 7 opponents, QPR, Sunderland, Wolves, Bolton, Hull, Reading and Norwich have only managed 8 wins between them in the last 5 matches!

Thats 35 games between them, and only 8 wins!!!

Come on Villa! It's on a plate for you!!!!

Loving this , absolutely loving it. Every game is huge , the wins and the celebrations after are so much more euphoric , meaningful and intense.

Can't remember feeling like that for a long long time.

An average of 2ppg will get us to 87pts. We are currently averaging below that for the season but 2.375ppg this calendar year. Form for me goes out of the window at this time of year as it is all about grinding out the points.

Team spirit will have a huge effect on results as will key injuries/suspensions (as we have just witnessed). My personal opinion is that 2ppg will not quite be enough. I think 89 is the magic number for automatic.

Some really tough games coming up and our away form will be crucial. Must win the next two games for me and get JG & AA back in the side - attack will now be the best form of defence. UTV :94:

Don't believe Octopus. It goes simply by past results, and with 12 matches to play that's not good enough.

But we do need to have a brilliant March and take momentum into a difficult April. Cardiff also have an easyish March, so a lot will depend on which of us makes the most of our chances.
