After imposing sanctions on Russia in the wake of the Ukraine/Crimea, the US has imposed more sanctions on Russia and expelled its diplomats in revenge for 'hacking' the US elections.
Of course, if the US had proof the Russian had hacked the US elections, they would have arrested somebody by now. No arrest warrants have been issued.
The timing suggest that the US is very upset about losing the war in Syria and Russia's successful check-mate of America's influence in the region.
With the Turks now lining up with Russia, it looks like Russia/Iran/Turkey are going to dictate the outcome of the wars in Iraq and Yemen.
Saudi Arabia's alliance with the US looks to have left it high and dry and surrounded by Shia countries.
