Giving the beast the evil eye .
Daring it to burst into life .
Keeping us all informed of its movements .
It’s strength .
How long it will be . .......
then, when you get out of the bathroom , maybe you could let us know how cold the other beast from the east is going to be .,
It’s a funny time of the year . We used to see a lot of other people and wish them a Happy New Year , but now I hardly see anybody .
I don’t think I’ve wished that to more than two people .
One to our neighbour , which was shouted over the fence , and the other to someone who was walking by as I was taking down the Christmas lights in the front garden .
He was one of those types that always have to make one of those stupid statements .
You get them when you wash the car , ..... “you can do mine next “ or , “ you will make it rain , doing that “
Yesterday I got , ....from somewhere behind me ...., “ I suppose you thought that was a good idea , when you put them up”
Well ... yes .... I did actually.... It was getting near Christmas Time .
All ‘kin festive I was .,...........Making a little bit of our country a tiny bit brighter and more cheerful .
It looked good , I thought . Took me about an hour , but in the context of the time of year , well worth it .
All bright , colourful and festive .
But he had to stand there and explain to me that he hadn’t bothered for the last ten years , couldn’t see the point of it . “Lot of fuss for nothing . “...... and then , back to the default........
“All very overrated , gets more and more expensive every year .”
Why don’t you just fuck off , I was thinking , as I said , “Oh well , got to get on , Happy New Year to you “ .
I bet it’s a lot of fun in his his house .
It always makes me think though , how long do you actually go on for , wishing someone a Happy New Year , one week ? Two weeks ?
............If you see one of your mates , unlikely , I know , in two weeks time , do you still bother ? .
We took all the decorations down indoors , when we put them up , they came out of the loft in three box’s,
We put them away yesterday , but they went back into two box’s.
that’s a bit of a mystery . But one less shimmy up the loft ladder .
Every cloud , as they say .
At least I could get to bed five minutes earlier last night , not having to wander to all corners of the house turning the lights off . It does look a bit bare now , for a while .
