Understand Nuno Espirito Santo's future at Nottingham Forest is still open after keeping #NFFC in Premier League.

Portuguese manager will discuss with the club soon in order to decide next steps, but there's a chance he could leave Forest.

Don’t mind the special one at the WFCG.
Oh that would be something ....but really? Come on. Surely not?

I think Nuno has done an OK job in difficult circumstances. No transfer window to speak of. I think we will have a better season next season. To all intents and purposes , we had a similar season to last with a much improved goal difference. I'd be disappointed to see him go unless it's for a guaranteed upgrade appointment

Agreed he’s done OK but you know what I’m not bothered one way or the other whether we stick or twist that just about sums up the impression he’s made on me although it does seem the players like him

I've been critical of Nuno, and made quite clear that I've been unimpressed with his record. I'll admit to having softened in the last couple of weeks (despite being particularly pissed off post-Chelsea).

His interview with Colin Fray yesterday gave some much needed insight into the struggles and challenges he's faced, and there has been quite a lot of interesting talk on Forest Focus around Nuno being the right man or not. I've been swayed into thinking he probably does deserve a tilt at it with less turbulence than he's had this season.

He's also closed the season out with a bit of an upturn in results, and the main criticism has been that whilst we've looked good the points haven't reflected it. It's unfair to not give credit for taking an increase in points return when I've knocked him for it previously.

So it makes sense that now I've started to change my mind, he's going to end up sacked. I'm not about to start making a robust defence for the chap, but I've come round to giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I would bet a phone call will be/ has been made at least

Would either be an Emery or a Rooney- possibly both over the time frame.

Can't see him settling for a club like us. He can still get a promising gig somewhere or a national team.

It would be typically Forest to show a degree of progression on the pitch, and then rip it all up for no good reason.

Alas, Cooper's tenure had run its course; and the tub-thumping super-ultra block had proven a bit naïve.

SNES has shown as a less emotive, but ultimately more progressive coach.
And, he does seem to have the players on-side: i guess (even relative) success makes followers of people.

I didnt think he said anything we did not know.

He could not form much of a bond with the players, well that was always going to be the case.

The players found it difficult to cope with the points deduction; that merely confirms the total lack of character and leadership in the side.

It would be total fucking lunacy to change now; he is a couple of players away from having a really decent side; bring someone new in and we end up with another fucking bomb squad it will take three seasons to off load.

We then end up selling the crown jewels to finance a season of total folly.

I agree 100% and quite honestly I'm shocked by how many people seem fine with Nuno leaving in the Summer.

Something to look at?

For me, it gave more of an insight into Nuno himself. Into what it had taken from him and the effort he's been giving. We all know about the points deduction, about the ref decisions and everything else. But that was probably the first interview where Nuno showed a more human side and the impact it had had on him at a more personal level. I don't know, I just felt far more honest and gave some empathy towards him, where his normal interviews are conducted with such a steadfast pokerface.

This is why he has to go it’s obvious our board/chairman are looking for better so he’s already undermined absolutely no point giving him any money as everything points to a woeful start to the season where the playerz already know the manager is on borrowed time.

It just hasn’t worked no point carrying on let’s just get a clean break & wish Nuno well.

Much will also depend on whether Nuno himself is happy at Forest and the targets that he is being set by EM, not to mention the relationship they have.

He achieved what was set out, i.e. EPL survival - despite a points deduction, the injuries, officiating and AFCON etc.

The latter made the job of team building/bonding so much harder and with PSR still hanging over us - I suppose any chats that he has with EM/Management team, will signpost who we have to sell and the budgets we have to play with.

Fortunately, other teams have the same PSR issues but we need to make sure that we don't make the same mistakes.

Personally, I prefer stability and I'd hope that we keep hold of Nuno, let him shape the squad to his liking, ideally without losing MGW/Murillo - although, I do think we'll have to sell one.

I doubt that would happen he would want champions league and we are decades from that - to be honest we should go for a carlos corboran perhaps - he worked for Oly don't know what his relationship was like at the end though.

He started in August and was sacked mid-September. I can't imagine he's in a rush to work for EM again.

I don't believe for one second that when he got the job EM told him that the target was simply to survive.

We were 17th and 5 points above the relegation zone when he was appointed, so I'm sure EM would have been aiming higher with expectations of improving on last season and finishing mid-table.

The points deduction puts a slightly different complexion on it but even so, I think EM will be disappointed that safety was such a close-run thing.
