Nottingham Forest Vs Liverpool Sponsored by Butlins Skegness

Assuming Silva was in agreement, EM should have gone and got him, paid Fulham and we'd be knocking on the European spots singing the praises of Kalimuendo having 10 goals.
I got the impression that Silva wanted to see out his contract and see what offers he got. I know he was unhappy at the time because Fulham weren’t spending so there may still have been a deal to be done.

Silva may have been able to convince Kali that he had a future but I am not convinced he would have been the answer up front. May have been nice to find out though…

There is definitely a good opportunity for us to rest some players and get some minutes into the legs of others but given some of our performances this season I will always be a bit wary.
There is nothing** to suggest Vito won't get more out of the bench players than previously.
I don't believe slagging them off on the telly has the motivational desire that was intended!

**2 games is a small sample size.

I just do not see a scenario where Silva ends up here.

If we get relegated, you can forget about him because he will not drop down a level.

If we do not get relegated, could you see Mendez agreeing to bin Perreira for another one of his clients?

Unless there is already an agreement in place where Pereira gets a nice payout for his services (that extra year comes in handy) and Silva gets a big payrise.

Money talks so I wouldn’t be surprised by anything at the moment…

I don’t think there is anything either way. Dyche got Sangare playing as well as anyone had for us and MGW was also playing better in comparison to earlier in the season.

Different managers will get different responses from different players. It was obvious that the starting players were working for Pereira but then for the most part, they have put the work in all season.

It’s the fringe players that have been an issue and the lack of goals and it’s those things that Pereira needs to change. So far in both of those areas, nothing has changed. In Europe we have a goalscorer but in the Prem we don’t. That’s not to say it won’t change as he gets to grip with the squad but he doesn’t have a huge amount of time.

I have never been to a training session at Forest, but I am not the one who is claiming this and that about how players are being coached, most of which is utter rubbish.

And as far as millions of opinions; that is all they are, opinions, they are not facts, but that does not stop people passing them off as if they were.

All that is happening is people are clutching at straws in the vain desperation to be right.

Some people did not want Dyche; yes I get that, but I do not get all of the extraneous bollocks that comes with it.

The very same people did not want Postecoglu and it will be the same ones who turn on Perreira in a few weeks time.
I honestly don't know where you're going with this. You don't have to go to training sessions. People know how certain managers get their teams to set up/play. Personally, I don't like a defensive side. I find it much more enjoyable to watch an attacking side that plays further up the field. We know Dyche has always played deep and defensively, and that's why I'm glad he's gone.

I'm pretty sure in the past, when linked with managers, you'll have had opinions on them and whether you want them here or not (all without seeing their training sessions)

Fully agree Strett.
We are 3 up for gods sake!
I would give the back 5 and Sangare in front of them. Solid at the back
Bring in Dominguez or Yates for Anderson and rest the front 4.
McAtee deserves another start following the Ferencvarosi game

Come on Mao - lets be positive we aren't going to get relegated (cue pelters from usual suspects)
However - didn't Silva manage Fulham - when they came up with us?
I think if we stay up - - only judging from what I have seen so far - and we don't get Silva - Periera might well start next season.
Unless of course we win the Europa and are in the UCL - then EM will probably go for an elite coach - which may or may not be Silva

Why are you so convinced we won't get relegated ? We struggle to score even when well on top , have little or no squad depth and West Ham seem to have the bit between their teeth and determined to reign us in . Bookies still have us at 5/2 which surprises me . We look an even money shot to go down .

He very rarely has a point. It's part of his charm.

Read what i have written!
I have said 'being positive' but also suggested that if we do go down - it doesn't necessarily mean Silva wouldn't come.
I have tried to suggest and option for all alternatives.
I knew all of the negative posters would not see past the first line!

Yep i read what you wrote and you were pretty much stating we wouldn't get relegated .

Soyuncu, Ederson, Talisca, Skriniar, Oosterwolde and Fred out for Thursday

McAtee, Ndoye, Cunha, Dominguez and Yates to come in alongside the first 11 for me

I don't think we will - but it was not a statement -

My point was a different one - Silva would not necessarily turn us down if we got relegated as he has previous for managing/taking over a championship club

It’s a difficult one to call for Thursday. I would be tempted to field the full strength side to get an early goal then start taking off players ready for the weekend.

On the flip side though we could start Ndoye, McAtee, Bakwa and (shudder) Lucca. Fenerbahce’s confidence is hopefully shot from the first leg but I am not sure how far I would trust a weakened side…
We haven't got a weakened side that is remotely good enough to guarantee a result against anybody. That's the reality of our situation.

Why all the negativity.
We played the 2nd team against Ferenvaros recently and hammered them 4-0 as I remember. No reason not to go with a similar line up on Thursday

PL is priority.
Vitor claimed the midweek fixture and 4 hr each way travel was a factor v Liverpool and the reason for subs in last quarter resulting in drop in performance level late in game.
BH&A on Sunday is priority.
They will be fielding second string, so should we.
We can field some of 1st 11 on bench as a safety net but the second 11 should be capable with a three goal cushion.
One of the reasons Forest has struggled has been the two games a week timetable. Last week’s performance allows for stepping off merry go round.
Opportunity for some subs to step up.

I do agree

But at £55 a ticket they do still owe a bit of entertainment to the paying public
