Is anyone else having problems with ads popping up throughout the text windows on here? I had this in UK too but its got worse now jumping in over texting making using iphone just about impossible to use. I've got Adblock Plus but it doesn't seem to do anything. And ads topics I dont want to see. Happened just then and overwrote this text box and closed it. Is it Vital themselves that are doing this? Doesnt happen on laptop.
 
I am blocking ads for that very reason. Instead I now have three messages two of which freeze progress making me go back and try again. The third one gives the option of proceeding without disabling Adblock; one in four is normal.
 
The thing is that, if the ads were discrete, most of us would allow them. These intrusive advertisements that prevent us from doing what we come to the site to do are unacceptable.
 
What I dont get is that the iphone is badly affected but the main computer which I'm writing this on isnt at all - I'm wondering if its an Apple thing as it seems to have got worse since the last two updates - its like something external has taken over the site
 
The issues that I have are also on my iMac so your Apple theory might have something in it.
 
My pc neither DG just on iphone - even typing this short msg the ads came over the top and hid the text box - its smother ad tactics - not nice, civil or acceptable in any extent - the ads are only lasting a few seconds and then changing so the screen jumps around and hides the text - just had to move the screen to get back to the cursor
 
OK Im officially over this - apparantly there is a system in place that the ads people deliberately target sites and smother them with ads over the top of each other deliberately and deliberately mess with the interaction as they think users will just put up with it - in writing this rthe text box has been switched off and overwritten by an ad whilst typing its a right P I T A - you have to keep putting the cursor back in the text box and if your not quick enough to pick up the change it'll transfer to the ad - I suspect tgat it is loading short length ad over ad of differing sizes and above the active area you are using do it shifts the page down - its a bloody total insult - will not be using the mobile for vital anymore
 
So the ad invasion is like a creeping virus and it seems online conjecture is that its apple and google.
Therefore as it seems that there are external corporates who dont give a rats arse about us and just think ad smothering is ok for their bottom line, well stuff the lot of you.
I've now totally dispensed with Safari and relegated it to the dungeons of the apple screens after deleting every tab I had open in it and am using duck duck go, suggested to me by a dear friend in our fine city.
By the way, no further comment from Vital management received, which may be understandable as I do not think that they can do anything because I dont think the problem is theirs.
Wow I've just typed this on DDG and its been straight forward with no interruptions - how nice!!
