Form Guide last 6 games:
1 Norwich WWLWWW 4W 0D 1L 17F 7A 12pts
14 Swansea DLWLLW 2W 1D 3L 8F 10A 7pts
Norwich’s only defeat in the last 10 games was a 3-1 loss at Preston on 13/2.
They are 22 points ahead of us on 69 points.

Toughest game of the season? I can't see us getting anything here at all, we struggle in these situations and our lack of experience shines through. Hope to be proved very wrong.

Stats comparison between the two sides:

Swans only trump Norwich in the passing stats. 26 more goals scored, 2.43 big chances created per game is also impressive not to mention needing <3 shots on target per goal scored.

They have failed to score in just 3 games all season but Norwich do allow slightly more shots than the Swans.

Just stats at the end of the day though. We trumped Sheffield Wednesday in all of these stats but we were convincingly well beat at Hillsborough. Still, it provides some insight into our level compared to the best in the division for key metrics.

Thanks for the stats. They’ve conceded a few more goals than us but excel in goals scored and are the highest goal scorers in the division by far.
The team should be nice and fresh for tomorrow nights game, they fly up this afternoon from Cardiff.

71 goals scored though, scary compared to our 45.

Like I said, toughest game of the season as we saw down earlier last year. We've got to be more energetic in games, we're lacsidasical and get bullied off the ball usually because we're too slow and ponderous with it.

Norwich manager Daniel Farke:
"These games are unbelievably tough because we are not only facing a side that is mid table but also a side what was last season in the premier league. They are one of the best possession sides in the whole league, and if we think we have a great opportunity and are not switched on we will fail.
We know we face a club who played a few months ago in the Premier League and they still have the wish to return there as soon as possible.
I am full of respect for Graham's work."
Very flattering but does he realise that 19 players of our PL squad of last season have left and his team will be playing against a shadow squad of players made up from our U23’s, and players left over that we can’t sell.
Yes, surely he knows that and his words are just a PR excercise.

HT 0-0
Norwich 0 shots on target - Swans 5 shots on target
Great first half by Swansea, shame they couldn’t put one of the chances away.
Can they keep it up second half?

Fourth consecutive away defeat as Norwich upped a gear and we conceded with Norwich’s only shot on target throughout the game, Grimes at fault for not closing down Buendia, but otherwise a good game.
Our missed chances of the first half proved costly.
Sadly we are a few players short of making a challenge this season, ones we should have brought in this January if there was any serious intent by the owners.
The subs highlighted this as they detracted instead of added to the team. Once McKay came on we were virtually down to 10 men as he strolled around yet again, how does he still get picked and when John came on you knew it was game over. Two bad buys last summer and need to be shipped out in the summer.
A case of so close yet so far away, we played really well but got nothing, hard to take.

Lapse of concentration let us down and whilst it's a wonder goal, we have to do better at closing off the passing lane to him and not leave players unmarked in this kind of space.

Anyway, an excellent first half performance. The goal killed our momentum really as that gave Norwich the confidence to go out and play a bit after struggling against our high press in 1st.

Potter has done brilliantly with this team. On tonight's showing, there's plenty of potential there but you'd expect quality to be stripped in Summer, rather than added to.

We also saw a lack of strength in depth. Whilst our first 11 did very well, we didn't have anyone really to come on and change it at 1-0 down. Not starting your second choice striker says it all really.

All we can hope is to get rid of the Ayew’s et al for some decent money in the summer and clear all the high earners out so we do not have to sell the players that did so well first half tonight.
The owners have got to see this, it’s clear for everybody to see, except them, that with a few players in January we could have been up there with Norwich.
Even with Montero, Carroll and Fer on the bench tonight to come on, we would have beaten Norwich, instead we had nobody there who could change a game.

Praise indeed from Norwich manager Daniel Farke after the match -
“They have some amazing players. It's a brilliant win against a fantastic Swansea side. For me, they're by far the best team we've played in recent months. I think they were fantastic. But we were able to find solutions against them. I'm absolutely delighted we were able to win this complicated game. This side played a few months ago in the Premier League and they still have really good players. The first season after relegation is always difficult.
They have a good balance and perhaps a cutting edge is missing at the moment but this is definitely a top side for this league.
Big compliments to Graham and the lads. I knew before the game it would be complicated and the players were prepared. It was a good lesson for our players. You have to be really switched on to win points at this level."
