Norwich v Swansea Sat 25 April 15:00

Our last away match of the season and always a tough one, we play the Canaries of Norwich at Carrow Road in the far reaches of Norfolk, East Anglia. It’s some 100 miles north east of London and a daunting 5-1/2 hour, 295 mile drive each way by car for our ever resilient away fans.

Norwich had a poor start to the season and struggled down the bottom of the table until the appointment of Belgian head coach Philippe Clement last November.

Liam Manning was fired after Norwich's eighth successive home defeat on Nov 8, which extended their winless run to 11 matches in the Championship and left them second from bottom in the table heading into the international break

Clement then oversaw a dramatic turnaround in form with Norwich winning six of his first eight matches in charge. Norwich City’s results under Philippe Clement P29 W17 D4 L8 for a 58.62% win record, impressive stuff. Today they are 9th in the table and four points ahead of us.

The reverse fixture on 25 Oct under Sheehan ended in a 2-1 win for the Swans with a Vipotnik brace. Ex-Swan Harry Darling was given a hard time on his return by Swans fans after he had turned down a new contract and left the Swans last summer.

Whilst Swans were winning at QPR on Tuesday night, Norwich ended Derby’s play-off hopes with a 2-1 home win, Norwich also missing a penalty.

Swans with two consecutive away wins under their belt will hopefully continue their recent good away form.
 
Don’t think we’ll win but as we’re scoring at the moment I will go 2-2. Norwich are very good, hard to believe that it’s the same side we played back in October, goes to show what the right manager can do. Toure up front for them has been in excellent form so we’ll have to try and keep him quiet. Hopefully another good performance from us.

Does make you wonder how bad Liam Manning was
 
Liam Manning took Bristol City to the play-offs in 2024-25 season before leaving for Norwich in June 2025. Sacked in Nov 25 he took over at League One Huddersfield in Jan 26. His record there: PL17 W6 D7 L4 and they’ve just missed out on the play-off spots.

Definitely a case of a decent manager at the wrong club. I wasn’t a huge fan of his Bristol team but he did well to have them in the play offs. Thought it was odd that Norwich gave him the job as didn’t seem like the right fit to me.

I worry with Ward possibly playing and the pace. But think we need Eom starting to add some energy and VP. Franco might run out of gas. Stamenic for Fulton.
 
9’ A homer ref, a dive by Slimane, Franco didn’t touch him, should have been booked for diving, free kick just outside the penalty area, straight at Vipotnik who gathers the ball.

In conclusion.

We sit 11th. So get win next week and we either go up to 10th if results go our way or stay in 11th. I'll take that considering the mess we had under Sheehan.
 
Didn’t see the game but glad to take a point from it. Vip continues to score and we equal last seasons points tally.

If we assume that results go the same way as they have, we may well have had a play off season if Matos was in charge from the start. Norwich will be saying the same thing though!

Spend the Vip money well and it could be a good season for us next year 🤞
