Norwich Blues - proposed new Supporters' Club Branch

TSQ

Vital Newbie
Any City supporters based in Norwich & area interested in joining a new branch of the Official Supporter's Club?

I have provisional approval from the OSC to set up a new Branch - all we need now are some more members ;)

A facebook page is being set up, there's a twitter account in place (@NorwichBlues) and I will provide email contact address via pm to anyone interested.

There are quite a few exiled Mancs in this part of the world - not to mention those who, like me, married into the madness :) We're doing OK so far for being just a couple of days in and I'd be vey grateful if you'd help spread the message.

Cheers

Gill

People in this neck of the woods really ought to be supporting Norwich City - or Lowestoft Town. No different to Londoners supporting the rags.

And before anyone mentions it, yes I live in Bath - but Tony Book started his career there so that makes it ok.

What about exiled Mancs or the offspring of exiled Mancs?

I hope that any of VMC members who live in the area take advantage of the Norwich Blue. good luck in your recruitment.

Thanks Buzz!

Really? Even those people who, like my husband, are Mancunian born & bred and lifelong Blues? Like all the Mancunians in this area who came here for work, or as a result of marriage? Like all the people who were born here, to exiled Mancunian parents, and who grew up supporting the team their parent(s) did (even if they didn't have any say in the matter)?

Need I go on? :)

John Bond Managed Norwich City, so that makes it OK for people who live in Norfolk to support City, except my brother, who lives in Norwich and is an armchair rag.

No, I'm sorry - even though the Kev's Bond and Reeves also came to us from the Canaries - as did David Cross possibly. I used to live in Worcester and went to watch Worcester City, something I wouldn't wish upon anyone - apart from rags of course although it would be an improvement on their current fare.

I even went to watch them at Kidderminster when they had to ground share. Have any of you ever been to Kidderminster...?

There can be no exceptions! If the Norwich kit is a bit much - and it is the same colour scheme that the rags tried to pinch and foist on their legions of glory hunting southerners then the tractor boys are only just down the road, or lane. St Neotts, Huntington and Wisbech all have well run clubs that could do with a bit more of the local vocal - and Lowestoft Town do an excellent veggie pie although a queue normally starts to form shortly after kick off.

I'm not sure whether you're being deliberately provocative, or whether you've just put a blindfold on as to all the reasons, in addition to being born in Manchester and excluding glory-hunting, that people can develop a genuine emotional attachment to a football club.

we welcome al supporters from wherever they live, take Kenny for instance, no seriously take kenny!!!

Well done, Buzz. I've been trying to think of the right words to attempt an explanation of KCT's sense of humour to TSQ.

Sorry guys - Buzz is right - and yes, I had forgotten Darren 'look up when you're running' Huckerby!

But seriously, have any of you ever been to Kidderminster...?

Thanks Buzz - and apologies to Kenny for misinterpreting your posts.

BTW, we already have nearly 40 people wanting to join - so looks like this new Branch will be a goer :)

A fabulous start, I hope that if any want to join us at VMC, they are very welcome. We are a friendly bunch with a good sense of humour and are from all over the world.

BTW no need to apologise for Kenny, you just have to get used to his dry wit, he is harmless really Mrs Kenny keeps him under the thumb. lol

No longer under the thumb I'm afraid as I'm currently on the lookout for a new Mrs KCT - the previous incumbent turned out to be a closet Chelsea fan. Even though the only City player she could positively identify was a pre haircut Carlos Tevez, for five years I suspected nothing...

I think that is worse than not liking football like Mrs B. Perhaps you will find one if you joined the Norwich branch of the City supporters club.
