Nike to be part of City history?

Are the days of Nike as City's kit suppliers numbered?

It seems that with the prices of Nike's underwhelming kits soaring many City fans have been turning to retro kits which are often much cheaper and demonstrate just as much commitment to the club. But more significantly City will be seeking an improved deal as they continue to flex their muscles in the global world of merchandising.

Under Armour are rumoured to be in the frame.........

It'll depend who is offering the most money. I personally don't like Nike, but I'm not sure it really matters who supplies our kit. Most fans are more concerned with the colour schemes (blue shorts or white etc) than who makes them. :048:

I did a discussion group with the OS through 'City Voice' the topic was why don't you buy the City shirt and like C I think the design far outweighs who makes them, take this seasons home shirt for instance, not a trace of white and many fans just didn't like the colour scheme as outlined above.

However again it is who offers most money and Nike shafted City money wise whilst other top Clubs got a better deal.

Maybe Under Armour can supply both demand by the fans for traditional shirts and mega bucks to the Club as the fan base increases.

Personally I loved the shirt of 15/16 , with the white colour, and would love to see that with the new badge.

How did they 'shaft' us? They took over the Umbro deal when they bought them out. We signed a 10 year deal 9 years ago (hence it is ending next year) before we had any success

Stretford Adidas £75m 2015-2025 (10 years)
Chelsea FC Nike £60m 2017-2032 (15 years)
Arsenal Puma £30m 2014-2019 (5 years)
Liverpool Warrior £25m 2012-2018 (6 yrs)
Manchester City Nike £15 m 2013-2019 (6yrs)

shafted?

Where dyou get that from? I could be wrong, but my understanding was ours was a 10 year deal from the Umbro days that Nike inherited I.e. it started before we'd won anything

Liverpool and Warrior - no conflict of interest there why with Warrior supplying the Boston Red Sox who are owned by John Henry. Not fishy at all
