On official site now. Worst kept secret ever?
Real Deal - 30/6/2017 17:02
Nike deal = 30m a year
AIA deal = 16-20m a year
For finishing 2nd = 36.9m
CL deal = 20m - 30m
Premier league TV deal = 145.5m
I don't have a clue what we make on merchandise and the commercial side of things but it's obvious with them figures we ain't skint, far from it.
Time to start acting like a big club.

Not that you needed to put it like that as we all already knew but when you put it like that it makes it even more depressing. We ain't going to do nothing this window and it's so infuriating :29:

Home kit is identical to Chelsea away

Our income is huge, still lagging behind the richer 5 in the country but we are not the poor Church mice of the PL who can't afford to buy big names / pay big wages.
Where did you read what you said about Lewis / Levy, Kinygerbils?
The pair of them are not remotely interested in football success. When it sneaked up on us with Redknapp they didn't strengthen, and this time round although somewhat different, are not acting like a club with football ambition. Let's face it, we have got CL fooball two years running on a no-net spend because the big boys have been shooting their feet off in various ways, so why would Lewis / Levy feel the need to spend?
So many of our fans are totally deluded as to what has been happening for the last 18 years.
It's a business, why should he put his money into the club? Surely the club should be self sustaining? Do I wish he would! Of course I do. But to castigate him because he hasn't says more about those that believe that than Levy IMO.Kinygerbils - 5/7/2017 06:49

Was on another forum - I saw somewhere Lewis has only( I say that well and truly in a football context) put 100 million of his only money into the club in 17 years - he now values the club at a billion.
No one expects us to pay 200/300k a week on wages or spend 100 million on a player - it's just not going to happen - but we under pay our players which increases the likelihood of being tapped up - why are our players targeted? Because they can be got at with a wage increase - Liverpool finish below us year after year and don't have the same issue for the good players they have - because they pay them - everyone knows this.
It seems a large number of Spurs fans are completely immune that the way Levy works does not cut it if you want to sign better players that win you things, just because he gets a deal once every 5 years - whilst paying himself over 2 million a year.
The clubs tightness has cost us cups and potentially a league title in the past two season - I doubt they are that bothered about it as we are doing the same this summer all to save a couple of million, which we will ironically waste of panic buys like Sissoko and rubbish like Janssen and Njie.
We would have been better ioff spending the Sissoko money on pay rises for every one.

I dont think its any shock what lewis's end goal is. Hes built an excellent training facility, new ground coming that will host NFL. Quality players at the club. He will sell if he gets the big offer and we will be a very tempting buy for someone. Lets hope we dont get people like the glaziers.
We are almost there in terms of winning trophies but now is the time to start backing the manager with big buys like lemar. If we are going to spend 100m like EX thinks then why can lemar be one of those.
We should recoup most of that money any way. Sissoko, wimmer, fazio, njie. We need those game changers and not guys who may come good next season.

I'm not sure Lewis should much, if any of the credit. Levy has guided this club to where it is now and even though we don't always agree with his methods and he has made some really stupid blunders down the years - his drive has been vital to us reaching this point.
I live in Portsmouth and I was here when Pompey were bought by the big money man who promised them glory and an insane new seafront stadium. Instead he crippled them and they went into free fall. This Nike deal is just another step in our progression - even if the kits are over-priced! :88:
