Until we play the arse we have a run in of 7 fixtures against bottom half teams:
Palace
Southampton
Burnley
Swansea
Watford
Bournemouth
Leicester

Anything under 6 wins would be a disappointment.

If we play it right we could almost guarantee CL football next year, get it wrong and we invite pressure for the last fixtures which include Arse and ManU.

We've worked hard to get here, let's see how much we really matured.

Win 5 of those and it guarantees top 4 IMO. All the challenging teams I'm sure will drop points over their next 7 games

To be fair there are some tough games there, at this stage of the season you don't want to be playing teams fighting for their lives, Palace, Swansea and possible Leicester & Bournemouth wont be easy

I don't see a single easy game in that lot, they're all going to be fighting like terriers, perhaps apart from Southampton, who really are looking exceptionally good recently..

There is just no such thing as an easy game in the PL anymore.

This is much more than a good finish for a CL spot.

It is all about the statement - do we have the mentality to fight for the title or not? If we pull another "Spurs" and allow our competitors to finish above us then next year nobody would believe we have a true shot at the title.

There's no such thing as an easy game, but if want to be considered as one of the big boys we need to win the vast majority of these games and get to the last stretch with a momentum.

After these games we should be past our PL point record, no excuses.

Well we've shown what we're capable of doing both against Stoke and Everton, we were great to watch for the most of it, play like that and there won't be many times that can keep us out for 90 mins..

No reason why we cant win all 7. Yeah teams are fighting for the PL status but if we win all 7 and hope the chavs slip up somewhere as they have some tougher games then you never know lol.

So Saints, Watford and Bournemouth at home and Burnley, Swansea and Leicester away. Surely the Palace match is postponed as it was supposed to be this Saturday. Has it been rearranged yet?

Before the NLD, there is Man City vs Liverpool, Liverpool vs Everton, ars*nal vs Man City, Utd vs Everton, Chelsea vs City, Utd vs Chelsea. Apart from the top teams playing each other, there are a couple of big games where Everton can do us a favour as well. Points will be dropped so we need to get as close to 18 points as possible.

Said elsewhere not finishing in the top 4 from this position would be a failure, however the manager and players would spin it.

We (as a club) love an excuse we didn't do xyz the ref/luck/keepers having a blinder etc etc - if we want to win stuff this has to stop.

If we don't finish in the top 4 I'd go as fair to say question need to be asked of the manager

If spursey turn up then we are lost, if we show mental strength learned the hard way in the run in last season, we will come through still in second and hopefully closer to the Chelski machine, as surely they will drop some points with the fixyures they have.

Let's finally put Spursey to bed!!!

I was looking at those fixtures and thinking by the time we play Le Arse we really should be around 72pts with 5 games to go (including Palace game) we really should finish on at least 79pts

I truly believe this season we will not fuck up 2nd place. We look so strong atm with great fixtures coming up.

We need a trophy though.

A trophy would be nice, but I believe finishing second on or around 80pts would be more important for our development.
I have been of the opinion that Levy would not spend the money needed on the quality we need till we have finished in the top 4 for two years running, that coupled to the fact that I believe we only need two players for us to win the league.

Completely agree with this. If rose returns in the next 3 weeks we should be in great shape.

In fact if we had had got Isco and maybe Dzeko in the summer who I believe we were linked to rather than Sissoko and Janssen then I don't think we would be 10 points behind the Chavs.
