Always think some of the stars that get them are strange, it's different when they have been truly groundbreaking OR done masses for charity.

I like quite like Nick Clegg but that seems strange. Ringo seems strange after all this time but it is for charity work as well. He always comes over as so grumpy these days!

Strange the pollster has a knighthood, although don't know anything about him other than his job, maybe he does good charity work?!

20% of knighthoods went to MP's or ex MP's which stinks a bit.

Lots of people do unstinting selfless work for no recognition , yet someone like Clegg gets a knighthood for doing what exactly ?

I have no real problem with the honours system if it's for recognising good work, lifetime achievements, etc. for normal, everyday folk.

But when MPs and the like get knighted or honoured in some way, having spent a good deal of time with their snouts well and truly gorging on the Westminster gravy train, it makes me sick.

And I do find it a bit weird that the honours are the "xxx of the British Empire" - those days are long gone.

Yes, the MP thing, it's just the old school tie thing, it's not right.

It should be those going above and beyond in their field, or people don't extraordinary things.

Eddie Hall for instance, first man (and maybe the only man ever) to lift half a tonne and he doesn't get any recognition.

Well, he'll get a hernia if nothing else :3:
