If you've been around for a while and as this is a new thread, how about adding a few words and introduce yourself? :73:

Its been pointed out that as I am a VS newbie I should set an example and introduce myself.

Here goes!

I'm in my early 50's and have supported the club I love since I was a twinkle in my dad's eye.

Due to various life circumstances I am not able to leave the house an awful lot which means I have to watch the games on the TV or internet.

I enjoy a :8: or 5 and love to eat unhealthy food. I am also a smoker which doesn't exactly bode well. If I make my next birthday i'll be happy.

Attending Spurs vs Ipswich in February 1974 was my first game with independence (with no adult supervision)... the thrill of that led me to follow the mighty ones over land and sea ever since. I take every opportunity to attend the Spurs - have been abroad for a substantial time over the last 2 years or so ....

Hoping to see Spurs win the league at WHL before too long - want to wipe the sight of another winning that at WHL.... A native of North London but submerged in 'red' area - always flying the Spurs flag high ever since I can remember.

As for WHL been in the Park Lane (mid 70s), the Shelf (1980-90s) Paxton (lower: 70s; upper:since the late 1990s) COTMS!!! :7:

I am a jewish by birth ATHEIST...who has supported Spurs ever since my dad took me to see the double team when I invariably had to sit on his shoulders due to the massive crowd/support...58k plus in those days.
Having experienced prejudice growing up in Forest Gate, mainly by bigotted West Sham supporters, I profess to being completely tolerant of all races creeds and whatevers as If one has experienced it, one learns not to apply such atrocious behaviour to others....except for ARSE supporters of course who deserve all that is thrown at them ha ha. :7:

ooops, not exactly new to the forum sorry!

North London boy now spending my retirement years living in Essex and the Isle of Wight. Dad took me to my first football game at Spurs on my 10 th birthday in 1955 and been hooked ever since. Lived through the Spurs great years including their Europe games against the mighty Benfica. Married into a West Ham family in 64 so became a closet yid for a while. Can't get out much now the last game I went to was taking my son and grandson to WHL a few years ago only to be thrashed by West Ham. TV and internet supporter now at least I get to see every game thanks to streaming sites Enjoy reading most posters especially from the guys like Highgatspur who actually go to games at home and away. Not to keen on all the slagging off which goes on the site. COYS

Born in Enfield but moved with family to Warwick when I was 7. Played rugby for Leicester Tigers at 17 but 2 months later crashed a motorbike and ended up in a wheelchair... 12 months in hospital on my back and the only thing that got me through the boredom was watching Sky Sports and looking out for th eSpurs results.
Been a huge Spurs fan from birth, and love VS, it's now th eonly thing that gets me through the boredom of a day at work!!!

Happily married father of 3. 1 still at home. Born in Portsmouth moved to Enfield and lived on Old Park Ridings. Spurs supporter since 1965. Emigrated in 1969.

A few gaps caused by lack of access from Canada. Internet solved that problem.

VS Member since 2010...just passed my 6th anniversary!

Never understood the concept of "online friends" until I joined this forum.

Been a Spurs fan since the late 80's. Gazza joining was what got the juices really going.

Been to over 100 games at the lane, will go to one more this season to say good bye.

Been a VS member for nearly 10 years. Was a lurker for the first 6 months. Started on the front page, then got asked to post on the forum.

I have met a couple of lads from here at matches over the years, hopefully I will meet some more in the future.

Still waiting for EX to invite me to a Box with free bar....

My wife thinks I'm a loser spending so much time on here. ;-)

Hello, if you are new to the forums please introduce yourself and tell us how you became a Spurs fan. Those stories are always interesting. Even if you've been around for a while that's a story worth telling.

A belated Welcome to ollieweb!!!!!!! :7:

I became a Spurs fan when I was at primary school. I used to be obsessed with the vidiprinter every Saturday - watching all the results come in. Anyway, one day, during a PE lesson (football, funnily enough) a kid wearing a Manchester United shirt asked me (after I'd totally skinned him) what team I supported. That weekend on the vidiprinter, I'd seen Tottenham had beaten Man U 2-1, so I told him I was a Tottenham Hotspur fan. The kid looked blankly at me and said he'd never heard of them.

I got home that day and demanded my parents buy me a full Tottenham strip, so I could show it off in my next PE lesson. They declined for whatever reason and I stropped, but carried on watching the vidiprinter every weekend to see how Spurs were doing and continued to do so.

A couple of years later, aged 6, I joined my first football team. The manager was a Spurs fan and took a shining to me. I'd told him one time that my parents wouldn't buy me a Spurs kit and I was upset about it, and at our end of season awards, instead of a trophy like everyone else, I was gifted the New home shirt (the 1993-95 one). That was me set for a lifetime I disappointment and Im still here today!

My bedroom looks like that of a 14 year old boy with about 15 various Spurs shirts hung up around it (some cracking names, Assou-Ekotto, Zokora, Huddlestone, as well as Van Der Vaart, Keane, Bale and others) and I've got a Spurs tattoo on my arm that I designed myself and spent over a grand on - so there is no turning back! Haha

Dave the Yid - 10/1/2017 19:13

I've even got Spurs bed sheets. I wonder why birds never come back for a second go? Haha

EDIT: Too rude for a class act like Dave!

Aha actually laughed out loud on that Dave.

You never showed me your tattoo when we met, probably because you were drunk. ;-)
