The EFL have not said they are not happy they have told admins its now down to due diligence which is ongoing and takes time
I am not concerned about the SC that will be sorted soon has they pass fit and propper
You really do want the spaniards to fail dont you
It's finished whate till Tuesday

Mick Wimsey of the SC said in an interview last weekend that they are backing the Spanish bid! Please get your facts right before making such claims

Haven't heard this interview mentioned, what was that on? Did he say why they back them but haven't done a deal with them?

Well unlucky wurriors tonight congratulations to sthelens and just been told guy who scored in last seconds for saints is a latics fan so congratulations to him especially

I have zero attachment to any bidder, I want the best option asap - whoever that is.

But since Spanish are closest to finish line my ideal would be the Spanish to be brilliant, pass the test and be the best owners we ever had.

But I also wanted that from Choi to but we don't always get what we want and after I ignored my better judgement and ignored Chois red flags when he was trying to buy us I'm not doing that this time. If you have 100% faith in the Spanish bid without any skeptism of our partially mystery owners you're entitled to and hopefully your faith is well placed. But if this was happening to another club we had no connection to and we were judging it from the outside I'd be saying exactly the same as i am now judging on how it's playing out - something doesn't feel right about it.

Due diligence was meant to be done and dusted weeks ago, if it's taken so much longer than initially planned and 2 extensions required it seems that it's almost certainly gone beyond standard procedure due to some issue. If it hadn't it would've been done.

To many rumours going on needs sorting once and for all. But the days of any mega rich bloke buying us are well gone. The frampton bid was to good to be true. Yes might get some one to buy us But we are dreaming in never never land. About schools and hospitals. Only Wigan labour council could fall for that one ,,,,, He may have good contacts. But have they done there home work. ...... Whelan fooled the last lot and look how that went. I keep saying the same. And know one answers. WHY WOULD ANY ONE WANT A FOOTBALL CLUB IN THESE TIMES. LET ALONE A LEAGUE ONE. OR TWO CLUB. Most clubs would be for sale now.

"Whelan fooled the last lot"
I dont know what you mean by this?

SC not done a deal with them and EFL not passed them, if they were happy they would've done.

Mick Wimsey of the Supporters Club said they back the Spanish deal on Radio Manchester last Saturday. He also said terms of agreement have been drawn up with them to be signed once the takeover had been completed, provided neither side has a change of heart. He also said the SC had spoken to the Spanish regularly and that they had the cash. Seemed very positive and couldn't understand why the deal had not been approved. He seemed to be of the same opinion as the administrators and the Spanish that it was all in the hands of the EFL.

It's was also interesting to hear the very knowledgeable Kieran Maguire on the pwu podcast this week suggesting that the EFL were taking their time after being caught with their pants down on this on numerous occasions lately particularly with Yeung and what's happened at Charlton.

What's worrying is that the EFL have, this week, been advertising a job for someone to come in and deal with applications under the fit and proper persons test. This raises the question which tool is currently dealing with all this at the EFL now if they currently haven't got some kind of specialist in place.

Rather than there being a problem with the Spanish bid this seems to me like complete incompetence on the part of the EFL. All fingers are now pointing at them, even Nandy said the Spanish were rightly frustrated at how long this was taking. It seems like the EFL don't really know what they are doing and are just going back to the Spanish for more and more info trying to make it look like they are doing all they can before waving the deal through.

The only doubts about the Spaniards seem to be coming from Frampton' s cronies on social media.

I have known mick wimsey for as long has i can remember from non league days even worked with him a real good latics man and i believe what he says to be true
I totally agree with you about frampton and his cronies putting out shyte as i feel leneghan sick of saying this mons name is in cahoots with them
I am confident the spanish deal will be done soon enough

The article from Kendrick and the statement from the admins make it plain that the EFL are the ones holding up the takeover.

The fact that they are advertising for someone to do the job of overseeing the "fit and proper" test gives you an insight into the problem. They have no one to do the work. The reason they are asking for information in dribs and drabs is that whoever is doing the job at present hasn't got a clue what is required. All the while we are running out of money to pay the bills due to the fact that we have no income.

If Nandy has any influence she should be now putting pressure on the EFL to get their act together and lobbying the sports minister to act.

This again is not knocking Nandy. I am merely saying that she is the one person in a position to be able to break this log jam as an MP and a shadow cabinet member.

At the end of the day there is enough highly paid employees within the EFL to make the decision.
The fact that the EFL are advertising for someone to do the job of overseeing the "fit and prosper" test should have no bearing in the delay in making our decision.
The worrying fact for me is that a previous Chairman of the EFL is desperate to purchase the stadium and may still have influences within their Preston office.

True what you say but being honest id keep nandy well away from this she spouted crap a week ago
And day after we got a differant story compared to hers plus she want exclusivety cancelled so others could step in always talked about local ownership and we know who
So i would say keep her well away from this final decision by EFL

That is big news and sounds very encouraging but I follow the SC, Mick and Caroline and none of their accounts on Twitter seem to have stated this or linked to the interview- i also checked and and i cant see that info on their website despite it being updated since the interview. It seems really odd that the update hasn't been published where the majority of our fans would most likely see it.

The news is a week old and the first I heard it mentioned was on here now so I'm sure plenty of other Latics fans will still be thinking the last SC update was about a month ago and feeling concerned by a lack of news and silence when there is significant progress they are willing to share.

I wonder if progress has been made since Nandy last spoke publicly as if the SC and council are now satisfied I'm not sure why she wouldn't be.

I think Nandy was speaking on around 10 days ago, after that admin said progress with council and SC endorsed. So maybe Nandy was correct at time saying things weren't looking good but a significant breakthrough has happened. Would be interesting to see if she still has the same concerns or if she happy now.

I think the SC could go a long way to debunking any misinformation if they released what was said in the interview as a statement and get it shared everwhere.

As I said in the reply to Roy, the SC endorsement will calm many fans fears so if they now want the Spanish deal to go through they've not effectively communicated it to the widest fan base.

The EFL tried to blame the SC not being on board as an excuse to not pass the deal previously, so the SC publicly backing the Spanish puts pressure on the EFL to get to a decision.

And saints played in blue and white 🤣🤣
Team from wigan lose game in added time - now that's never happened before 🤔😉
Something strange did happen though that is typical leading up to the winning try. The Saints Mon hoofed the ball at those stick things and unluckily his kick to win the game hit one of the sticks. Typical Cuckoo luck. Fortunately another Saints Mon grabbed the egg and jumped on the floor with it which won the game for Saints.
I saw this on Twitter. Some daft Barnsley fan put it on to mimick Latics fans. Idiot!!
