New Regime

New owner to be in attendance for the first home game under the new regime.
Will he endure witnessing the usual Pools failure on "significant " matches or will there be a victory to celebrate?
Personally, I hope that Pools and the supporters show the positive side of the Club but, I do fear that the inherent negativity surrounding Victoria Park will surface and cause Landon to question his sanity in getting involved with Pools.

Certainly got off to a winning start under the new ownership - back to back home victories, almost unheard of!

As we approach the end of Landon Smith's second month of ownership I wonder if we can see signs of improvements?
For me, it would appear that the quality of players being brought in since Christmas have improved. Though, perhaps, the performances are yet to reach necessary levels of consistency.

There seems to be a (misguided) belief that Landon Smith's ownership will bring a wholesale change to Pools and their fortunes on and off the pitch.
New Board members
Ground and pitch improvements
New manager and coaches
New, quality, players
Etc, etc

However, Landon has indicated that we can anticipate evolution rather than revolution so I'm guessing a lot of "fans " with Wrexham style Holywood dreams are going to be in for a disappointment!

Watched Lidds give press interview on OS, and trying to get some clarity from what was said. It appears to me that there is currently no certainty regarding Lidds or Nicky's role for next season.
Not sure this is a good thing, as it will impact on preparation, recruitment, philosophy, etc. And, as with previous seasons, put Pools at a disadvantage.

I think this season is over, we need to prepare for next. Needs root & branch clear out not only playing and back room staff but those advising or making decisions on players brought in.

It would appear that the majority of players and management/coaching staff are out of contract at the end of the season. Will Bromby & Partners be recommending to Landon that this will be an opportunity for a complete reset?
I have thought for a long while that Pools have no "identity " , possibly due to numerous leadership changes, are we a Club developing players, a Club recruiting experienced players, a long-ball team, a short-ball passing team? There's a lot to be resolved and in a short time if Pools are to be competing for a Playoff finish next season, we can't afford to be playing catch up if there's a genuine intent to be successful.

The direction might be more clear before the beginning of May, but this is Pools!

Season ended with the usual whimper from Pools.
With Featherstone gone, and Monks following him out the door, we supporters must wait for further developments and (hopefully) some clarity on the direction of travel for the Club in the weeks/months ahead.

To all who read this, wishing you an enjoyable summer.

Frankly I would have preferred to see Sheron moved on and a bit disappointed we’re having discussions with Hunter & Charman. Reid may have been an asset under a different manager and with improved service, who knows. Seems Bromby & Co are selecting, hiring and firing, we’ll see how much they know.
