New Printer

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Anyone recommend a decent printer (with copy/scanner)

I have an Epson one at the moment and it really is junk.

Don't need to be printing photo quality, mostly office work etc. This one clogs a lot and never cleans as well as it should when doing maintenance.

Get one with the ink tanks on the side. They are cheap as chips to run.

I have a Samsung printer at home which I barely use. The scanner is good but the cartridges are expensive.

LOL yup that could be said. Whatever you do dont touch HP as they are a pile of cr*p. Last time I had to buy a new printer (not so long ago) I bought a £40-00 Cannon from Tesco's. Not quite the basic. It does what it needs too. It prints/scan's/has WiFi etc.

I have bought so many others, Cannon included which were more expensive and alot of the features I never used anyway. Basic Cannon that prints, scans, has WiFi and do photos too is absolutely fine. Shh i have had it a while now and it does what it says on the tin with no problems. I hope I don't live to regret saying this.

I bought a HP Deskjet 2600 about 6 weeks ago. I've used it a few times so far and find it pretty good.

I can't go overboard and say it's brilliant as I've not had it long enough. Hope that helps.

Nah, was hoping for something more helpful in this thread! lol

just not had time, nearly out of ink for the epson though so will start doing some online searches I think.

I have a HP printer too.

Never had a problem, it scans and prints good quality photo's,

Only drawback is the ink is expensive but work pay for new ones.

All printers are shit, my advice to customers is buy cheap and don't expect them to last too long. Anything under £50 unless you have specific needs.

Wisdom again from out IT guru.

I've experienced this many times. The parts to repair cost more than a new printer. I've particularly had problems with printheads drying up if not used for some time.

Having said that, my latest Canon Printer seems OK. I barely use it it, but it seems to do OK. I'm sure it will pack up one day soon, though.
