New pitch update.

The fact that the company have successfully installed pitches elsewhere shows they know what they are doing and so we should expect the pitch to play well from the off. I don't properly understand the technology but it isn't turf that has been laid. It's a hybrid system of plastic and individually growing grass plants set in a mesh. The whole thing is prepared off site and installed as an already growing system. We aren't waiting for the roots to grow, they are doing so already. I assume that the sections will be fixed into place securely through the membrane so the divots and giving way should be a thing of the past.

If the game is poor on Saturday at least we have something else to concern ourselves with.

Oh bugger an expert. Its doomed from the start. That nice Mr Gove said we shouldnt trust them :eek:
 
Our boys have trained on it and mastered the special techniques required. Southend should be truly anxious arriving unprepared for this unique pitch.
 
Know what you mean. It's green and rectangular with white lines, they've never seen the like this side of the Thames ?
