New Kit To Be Delivered In A Different Way

From a fans perspective I couldn’t care less if the kit is made by Nike, Adidas, under armour etc except for the quality of the shirt itself. It sounds like this guy will actually care about the shirt so I look forward to seeing it.

I’m not entirely sure kits and training clothing with the brand Luke 1977 will be big sellers in comparison to a known and proven sports manufacturer, no matter how well intentioned and ground breaking the deal may be.

Don’t think villa fans will care who the official manufacturer is, if anything the fact it is done by a villa fan rather than a corporate manufacturer might make more fans buy it, and people who aren’t villa fans aren’t going to be buying villa stuff anyway so no loss there

Never heard of Luke but, as with anybody else, I will reserve any opinion until I see what the kit looks like and how much it costs (a quick look at his website and £45-50 for a pair of shorts is not exactly cheap). I have not bought any home/away shirt since the Acorns one as I am not a fan of promoting gambling so I will also wait and see who, if anybody, replaces Unibet.

Might be RECON on the shirts
Yeah had a look on Luke 1977 website , not my cup of tea and not cheap but in fairness it's aimed at a younger audience. Will ask my sons opinion

To be fair it shows how much attention I pay to the official kit I thought we were sponsored by Recon until I just googled it

I normally buy the kits about this time of year when they are down to £5-£10. Never wear them just add them to the pile in the villa drawer

GT said the traditional Villa Jersey is vital.
So claret with light blue sleeves it has to be.
At least we’ll look like a real Villa team and maybe we can play like one.

Some of the shirts sanctioned by Ellis were apallimg.
Please not back to those days.
We’re the Villa

Well, as long as it claret shirt (plain) with blue sleeves (plain) and the away shirt is white I don't care who makes it.

However, I don't buy into all this "groundbreaking" nonsense. Heard it all before.

Pretty sure they got the gig as they were the cheapest - nothing more, nothing else.

Lets see what it is like

Love Luke1977 clothing.

Don't actually own any as it's too bloody expensive and the days of me buying designer gear are long in the past, but whenever I've been window shopping I've always liked the Luke1977 range.

Just caught some of the PR videos and blurbs for this and I can safely say I've never heard of Luke or his clothes. I don't buy the club gear so it makes no odds to me but as somebody else said if he brings the round badge back I'll be pleased.

There used to be a Luke 1977 store in Merry Hill which is where I know it from, as said it was only ever window shopping but his stuff seemed nice.

Just checked and that store has closed down though.

I think you mis understand the deal Holtelower.

Kit suppliers pay US to wear their kit, so this could have been the best deal on the table for us financially.

Your opening comment on the first page saying we hadn't paid the bills was puzzling considering Under Armour pay us.

There are Luke stores in the Bullring and also in Resorts World, so he can't be doing too badly for himself.

Yes you wouldn't expect the yam yams to buy gear like that.

Not quite correct SirDen.

Under armour pay us an amount for the deal but the shirts sold in the shop etc have to be bought from them.

Well this is a big contract for the guy so good luck to him. As a Villa fan himself I'm sure he'll have a good eye for what we would all like to see and what we wouldn't.

I think in the end if we do well on the pitch the deal will look "innovative and groundbreaking" and if we flop on the pitch it will look like one of Xai's silly cheap gaffes. It's all about the football in the end I think if we wore a bright pink kit made from bin bags and romped the league it would probably go down as a classic kit in years to come.

I have to laugh at the sty dwellers comments on their small heath alliance forum which is always good for a laugh.

There are more tits, pricks and fanny's on there than on porn hub.

There is a video of Villa's Biggest Fan Luke talking about how big a Villa fan he is on the official Youtube page. He also says that the 87/88 kit was his favourite. That concerns me a bit. That kit was super busy and the best kit ever was the 81/82 kit which we all know.
