New Computer For You Techies

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
Should be good this, business partner has one less powerful and he gets on with it fine. My all in one has been nice but I do too much at one time for it to keep going quickly enough really!

And a nice monitor

Did you buy that Fear?

More importantly will it turn the Vital Football network into a virtual reality experience with all that computing power :122:

I did SJH

I don't know SJH

Time will tell SJH

:5: CTV

That is all, good day to you all ! :14:

Very nice. And it's a standard case, so repairs and upgrades will be easy in the future!!!

How are you getting on with the monitor? Some find 27" ones too big at the viewing distance you get on a desk? I love mine, but I'm weird, as you know.

Not got it yet Heathfield. But the current all in one is 27" and I'd hate to lose any inches, size IS everything afterall!

Yes, this one has been ok, but I throw a hell of a lot at it during a working day, whereas I think this more as a hobby and gaming thing would work better.

Looking forward to delivery and setting it up, should be a lot faster as the processor is twice as big ish...

if the old one can be used as just a monitor - you could go for 2 x27"
(or just get another monitor if it can't - prefer 2 (or more) smaller monitors myself - find it much handier and wouldn't go back to a single after working on multi displays)

bang a ssd in as well - you know it makes sense

ssd?

The other will go to my business partners youngster once factory reset! But good idea!

Solid State Drive. It's a newer type of hard drive that is much, much quicker. They are a bit more expensive, but prices have been coming down recently. They are essential on any PC I have now. Just a huge difference in boot times in particular.

That is pretty cool how you can turn that monitor to protrait angle never seen them before tbh, looks the business tbh

As we are doing some computer 'porn'...
My second ever build, and my first water cooled. Took 10 days as I had to wait for parts from Lithuania, well worth it though, sooo fast. My car though cannot go near Mr Fears

Just set up, wow, seems very quick. Most satisfying! Plenty to transfer over and tinker with, but this is the fun bit!

Computer bizarrely started playing ITV advert and some news headline over the speakers. Hadn't got a browser open. Couldn't locate it. Opened a couple of browsers and they started to get covered in strange adverts.

Downloaded a microsoft malaware tool which located nothing. Did a full scan with my norton doo dah and it found some adaware crap and then a trojan. Very strange. Never had anything like that before! Still, hopefully sorted now.

It had a pre loaded cleaner programme as well that kept flashing up, said it had 117 issues to fix. I've removed it. I'll put my own ccleaner on as I trust that programme.

Half way or more through setting up the different bits though, need to make sure the issues above don't repeat before continuing, if they do I'll do a factory re-set and start all over again!

Nice and quick the computer though, going to be far better. Just a bit peeved to have issues on set up!

I use ccleaner Fear dude thats always kept me defragged and cleaned up tbh,,,,i always do it a couple of times to makes sure it has fully cleared everything on ccleaner.
