Also notable because 1987-88 and 2016-17 were (title-winning) non-league seasons; this time, we have scored a sackful of cup goals in Football League club competitions. The previous record as a FL club was 23 in 1982-83, the only other season in which we have scored 20+ cup goals.

Also equals our biggest ever victory in the Associate Members Cup / EFL Trophy. The only previous occasion we have achieved a 4-0 win was on 6 February 1985, against Hartlepool United in a first round, second leg tie in what was then the Freight Rover Trophy. Devon White (2), Alan Walker and Gordon Hobson were the scorers on that occasion.

15 cup matches in 2016-17, 26 goals scored.

10 cup matches in 2020-21, 28 scored.

Even with my non-Barney maths, that is almost three goals per game - outstanding.

I was one of the few at at that match. Big Devon went on to a half decent career after he left us.
